Records... Lots of Records
I keep printed and electronic copies of my records. Lately, I have been making the rounds of my doctors to get copies of my records from the 2019 year. I made an electronic request of one of my hospitals that I do my ECT at and that I was hospitalized at in Oct. The attached picture are the twelve reams of paper they sent me today. That is a lot of records for one poor soul as I.
How do you feel when you read about yourself in the medical records? I went to the ER and presented myself for admittance because of suicidal ideas and a lack of sleep due to bipolar mania. Seems that I was "Baker Act'ed" into the hospital and I was marked for involuntary admittance and was remanded for 72 hours of observation. I was there for 10 days total but that was to stabilize my mania and suicidal ideations. I feel angry at the implication and misrepresentation of the material facts of my case. How do you feel when you read about yourself in the records? Am I wrong to take offense? Does it really matter.... not really but it is a lie told about me and I feel the need to right this wrong.
