Recommended Reading

I don't usually recommend books I haven't read yet, but these 2 are special and are on the way. One is "Radical Survivor" true story about a woman who battled breast cancer twice before she was 40, then lost her husband and 2 sons in a small airplane crash. The book details what she went through and how she came out on the other side.

The other is "Wave", another true story, about a successful family vacationing in Phuket when the Tsunami hit. She lost her husband, 2 children, and her parents.

I am excited about both books and they are calling out to me, perhaps because I believe I lost Cassi, and then so much more. It humbles me to realise that people continue on through catastrophes and find their way back to the world and even find a way to shine. It truly is what I want to do, but self-pity tells me I have gotten the worst break in the world. I know in my head that isn't true, but my heart has it's little arm raised yelling, "Wait a minute!!!! You lost your only child...to suicide...your closest friends abandoned you...people treat you differently now because of the stigma attached to suicide...and worst of all...my baby sufferred all those years for nothing. I kept pushing and pushing, hoping and praying...and she was still in pain, and when she could not handle it anymore my worst nightmare came true anyway.

It is both humbling and comforting to realise others have experienced devastating pain, some, like the two authors above, maybe even more, but they hung in there and carved out a new life for themselves.

When the books come in I will let you now how tey are. I am a fast reader and usually won't put down a book until I am done with it, so it shouldn't take too long to get some book reviews written from my point of you.

I am glad this weekend is over, and hopeful for a new week. Thanks for reading my many, many journals!!!

I love to read so let us know your thoughts. Hearing how others are navigating their lives always helps me to reframe how I might be thinking of something.

May this week be gentle on your heart and spirit.
