rambling with my typing fingers
...the air is thick with moisture. the sun is in hiding......when the sun hides does he take a friend? our shadows perhaps?
good almost afternoon!
put the dishes away......and other chores. i have this lemon shampoo that smells soooo good. why aren't there more lemon shampoos out there? also wonder why the dollar stores don't carry plain or designer empty dish detergent bottles. not just plain pocket but cute ones? that way i can buy the big bottle of dish liquid and fill a smaller purty container for daily use. silly or not, i would like someone to design and put them on the shelves. ...just for me.
and i want someone to please design the perfect indoor watering container. one that pours the stream of water where i want it and not all over the shelves, floor and top of the frig. (ok, yes part of this is my wonkiness i admit...) i have a pretty little sprayer for the outer leaves that works great, but the other choices to date have been a bust. currently i am using a pink water bottle that i have to refill 80-hunnerd times. ack.
staying in saves money. staying in saves body energy. staying in all by my self is not spirit lifting. i need to talk more to God. the more alone i am the more at sea i can feel......less spiritual, less connected. and then i put my head down and think about what's really going on........i'm being a lazy prayer. Momma cross stitched a wall hanging that said,"Pray without Ceasing." Thank you Mom!
i have two upstairs closets full of clothes. from a lot of different eras.......now i wear so few clothes....wait, rewrite that, i definitely wear the proper needed amount of garments, i just don't have the need to rotate outfits. in the first couple of years of not working i donated shoes & suits...executive lady wear. i remember back to when i had precious little of all that. i had to scrimp & save and hunt the aisles of discounted clothing stores for bargains. to build on a wardrobe.
clothes aren't everything....but one of my early bosses told me to always try to dress for the job i wanted to have. that stuck with me, so even though we didn't have a lot of money i bought some pretty cotton dresses for not a lot of $$$ and rotated them. it meant a lot of time with Sir Iron....that hot steamy metal giant. never was crazy about ironing except it brought back good memories of my momma. find something good in everything.......almost everything?
cleaning the toilet for example.....is not good while happening, but then afterwards the porcelain is as if brand new. i have a toilet seat right now that closes slowly. it may be a foolish thing, but i like it a lot. it's quiet, it's nice. it has another feature too, you can lift the tabs and completely remove it to clean it thoroughly. i have had it for months and never once remember to tell Debbie that it can be removed. not that it would make her day......but she appreciates little things. i got a floor cleaner, noticed that she sniffed it and put it back. her no likey......so i went back to the stuff i was using and she shared her appreciation immediately.
over time i was able to build on that wardrobe...always had a hard work ethic.......so within six months i was offered a new position. when i was first hired they put me to work doing a variety of tasks, the primary focus was answering the phones on one of those big phone systems. the then modern version of Lily Tomlin playing operator. it was amazing......letting us know where calls came in from....now it is commonplace, these technical conveniences. i got bored easily so i was always asking for things to do. when i sit idle i don't like it much. now health demands it, but the drive is still there......back then i got to proof reports, research faulty carpet claims, work on a special dealer promotion that would send one lucky carpet dealer to Hawaii......they started having me relieve secretary's........when they were out sick. so after only six months i was offered a job working near downtown Dallas, at their 10,000 sq foot carpet showroom in the Dallas World Trade Center. (by way of explanation I worked for a floor covering master distribution center, their claim to fame was being able to fill huge orders in 48-72 hours, at that time there were 21 cranes putting up skyscrapers in downtown Dalls......business was BOOMING!)
Jeannine's advice helped get me there.......i was so young. not bad for a high school grad with a primary resume of waitressing. it took me a long time to understand that i was bright. that all those books i had read from an early age were already changing my future. being a life student, reading everything i could get my hands on served me well. working with the public as a waitress also provided great experience. if you can deal with people when they are happy, mad, sad, drunk, nutty.......frustrated, impatient......you name it people bring it into a restaurant.....if you can deal with all of that you become resilient. learn to think on your feet. it also drew me out of my shell......gave me more confidence.
just rambling on a mid sunday.......i was going to chop celery, but it was frozen. not sure why, the other stuff around it was NOT frozen. i have a grocery list but will it be enough to propel me outta here?
dunno.........oh my goodness, the sun just came out. wow............it's been overcast for days, this is LOVERLY!
i'm glad to hear of your gardening fun too.......there's something very soothing about it. my yard needs cutting like crazy....time to call Bruce and get this on his radar! take care.......may your Sunday be blessed. remember to pray!
it really does help......God understands slang - imperfection & silliness too........he's just like any parent, so happy to hear what we're up to, what's going on, what we need.........anytime, all the time, he's right here and so glad to listen.

I like hearing about your adventures when you were younger. Ironing is against my religion. That doesn't go over well with my Mexican mother-in-law who irons socks and underwear. Wow, overkill! Love you.
