rambling thoughts
Last night I attended a reception at the home of a friend who lost their daughter to brain cancer. It has been a long battle for this family and now she is at peace and she is at home with the Lord.
I have attended more funerals in the last year than I care to remember, but this one and the one for a very dear friend of mine hit hard and they have also taught me some lessons that I hope to hold on to.
Life is meant to be lived. Embrace it, get out there, take some chances, make the memories, love the people in your life with all you have. Listen to them...and I mean, really listen. Put down your phones, get away from the TV and engage in life with them.
I don't really like having my picture taken much: my hair looks bad, I look fat in this outfit, etc. But both of these families have taken tons of pictures together. The have taken trips and made memories that fill the video screen with the life they lived and watching that makes me realize that I want that for me and my family as well.
I am going to try and put into practice what I know to be true and that is to forgive your enemies, Move on, don't harbor that resentment and just live!
