rain rain rain.......

before i lose the memory........i was sitting outside for a time......stared at the rain.  it was a gully washer....it slowed and gradually an awareness grew.  Like spring, we are complex beings, capable of so much change even within a minute.
At first it was just sitting in the deluge to tell you the truth, the fresh air was good in my lungs.  Organic air, artisinal air........handcrafted by a real artisan.  Wonderful clean life giving air.
It sounded like mighty Thor was pummeling the clouds from above with his mighty hammer.  Trying to break up the cloud cover and gift us with sun.  I heard the train whistle off in the distance.......behind me.........about seven miles or so.  Trains seem like yesteryear, but they still have very important jobs they do.......to ferry important materials to us.
Mrs. C......lovely cardinal Mum that she is.......is down near the front corner of the yard.  Hopping and running......looking for the freshest tidbits for her babies.....and sneaking in a bit of a jog.  Bet it feels good to stretch her legs after nest sitting.  Babies are grand, but it is nice to be out and about too.
I remember Mrs. C......sometimes just going for a walk restored my soul on a busy day of parenting, cooking, cleaning, working and all that jazz.  The rain is flying down the sloped driveway........sheets of rain heading for the road..............water is standing on top of the land in places.......red clay now muddy after the hard rain.......the puddles are several inches deep in places.
I close my eyes and sit back on the bench.  The birds begin to sing again.........high and far away.  The oaktrees in my neighborhood are anywhere from 20 to 50 feet high.........so a lot of very mature trees for them to find shelter.  Wonder how many leaves are on an average 30 foot oak tree?
The squirrels and lizards are still holing up, guessing there is more rain to come.  The earth smells so rich and clean after a hard rain.  It smells of life.........change, growth........the land is good.  Said the little girl from Iowa.......chuckling and yet, it is good.  This place we live is mighty special as you peel the many layers.......
I am happy, today I made the chicken, filled containers with celery & carrots.......the chicken is so tender, the celery so crisp.
May I continue to count blessings, close my eyes and seek out the sounds of glory, open them and see the incredible beauty all around me..........listen to the concerts in the trees.......the soft grace of flowers blooming.........and that air.........if I could get my windows open, silly weak arms and hands....doh!  but if i could this would be the day to let the outdoors in.
i think it is naptime.........please Lord make DS faster soon........it is taking an average of ten minutes to open or post anything.  yeouch..................but it did send me out doors. so I thank you for that........
hugs ya'll.

What a wonderful journal entry. I sure enjoyed reading it. We have so very much to be thankful for and sing God\'s praises. Our beautiful earth and its creatures are such blessings! Thank you for the gentle reminders!

We had the rain off & on, then the sun would peek out behind the clouds. The birds were chirping away & the geckos wer running here & there.
The kiddos came by to go in the pool for a bit. Michael & Yessy Sid, Kennedy has been moody all day. Kennedy brought her cousin Seira 8 us old. This girl is like a mouse! Doesn\'t say a word. :). I got in the pool & sat & chatted with my loving daugher in law. It was a nice little visit. We started to feel the rain drops hit the pool...so we all got out.

Serce....reading your journal made me feel like I was sitting with you listening to the rain. One of my favorite pastimes to do. I have to put in my hearing aids to hear the rain but that\'s okay. Glad Mrs C got out and about for a bit...a break from tending to little ones. Enjoy your chicken and celery. Hugs/greenies my friend xoxo

My gramma always said \"gully wersher.\" It took me until I was a teen to figure out that \"wersher\" was \"washer\"! LOL

Glad you got some fresh air! Trying to keep cool here.

Take care!
