Pros and cons to saving the house
Pros
no need to find a new place
no need to move the dogs/my stuff
No security deposit
may be cheaper than renting once we are caught up or rent out a room
Not on a lease, more flexible
Cons
The house is an absolute mess (my parents have a lot of shit, its very cluttered and there is a lot of dust/dog hair in the less traveled areas in house)
No in the house is particularly neat, which would make cleaning the house and keeping it clean difficult.
We are already 3 months behind, I do not yet know if the bank will work with us. We do not have the finical ability to get caught up right now. We may be able to make regular payments, however.
I am nearly 24 and will still be living with my dad. By getting even more involved, I am even more so not going to be living on my own. Not really a bad thing per se, my dad is very much "do whatever you want" type guy, but I still won't have my "own" place. This may or may not be a con, its just a thing.
A big con here is, if something breaks, we have no way to fix it right now. As we get caught up, maybe rent out a room, this might change.
That's all I can think of right now, Ill add more if I think of more and do a pro/con list of my boyfriend and I getting our own place soon.
