Preparing For A New Journey…
It has been too long since I have been on here. I hope everyone is doing well and hanging in there. I have been on a self-care journey that has been both inspiring and difficult. I am still fighting my demons daily, but have learned techniques that definitely help. I feel that, in time, I will be able to line myself out. I hope. It just seems like I have been so tired from working and trying to maintain my mental and physical health. I am burned out, but know that I have to keep going. I have spent the last three months in therapy and after thinking long and hard for a couple of weeks, I have cut ties with therapy. She provided me with techniques that no one else has and they have proven to be effective. We finally got the point to where our conversations seemed repetitive, so I decided that I will take what I have learned and go my own way. It is going to take a lot of work going forward to get to where I want to be, but I definitely feel like it is doable. I just have to stick with the treatment. I know there are going to be hard days when I feel like giving up. In fact, today was one of those days. I could not get myself out of the funk. I accept today for what it was and am looking forward to starting with a brand new day to work on myself. It is not only a process, but a journey, and I look foward to the results. As far as my medications go, my doctor wants to keep the dosages the same until I get myself lined out. I am fine with that, as they do help me to function much better. To whoever reads this, I thank you for taking the time out to take in my words and am open to any suggestions that will help me in my journey going forward. Hugs and love to all...

Hi! Good to hear from you!
Sounds like you are doing really good! :)
If you ever feel like you need help, then look for a different therapist. I am not sure if only 3 months is really long enough to get to the root of things and to work on your long term game plan. I am with my current therapist about 6 years and we are always coming up with new things for me to try. And the one before that I was only with for 2 years, because I didn't like him that much personally. And the one before that, 5 years. Every therapist has a different style and brings new ideas. No two are alike. So, just saying to be open to working with a new one.
P.S. Only "Friends" can see this Journal that you wrote. If it's not on the regular boards, only "Friends" that you have previously requested can see this.
Good for you and keep going!!
Hi there!!! Thank you for your response. I am considering another therapist. I never rule out that there is someone out there that can truly help me. I’ve also been reading up on Cognitive Restructuring, which I feel will be beneficial for me. My biggest issue is negative thinking. I’m optimistic about getting to where I want to be!
