practicing my personal mission statement
I went to work today - did good work except for one issue I might
have eff'd up on - not sure...but it's entered into the computer
now...we will just have to make a change if it is an issue.
Anyhow, I came home from work - glad to be done with the workday -
ate lunch - took a shower and dressed - and went to get a coffee -
I finished my coffee and sat there on the couch relaxing - but then
felt myself starting to lean and ruminate - and I just remembered to
kind of practice an awake sense - a mindfulness - and instead of leaning
and become linear - I decided and was inspired to think about - the concept
of what my therapist had talked about in terms of having my own mission statement
for my life... it was extremely helpful ---- I came to the realization of my mission statement
in full last week...but thought about it on my way to and from coffee today as well...
I may not have children... I may be a single, older guy... and I think if I were a Dad or was married
or had a robust professional life...a lot of relationships and activity scheduling would be kind of
'built into that' if that makes sense. In other words- I'd be going to PTA meetings and soccer games
and so on...not to mention business meetings etc...
So I know I am still able bodied to do somethings and I do the Treepeople.org events on Saturdays.
And that is really great! I love it! It also definitely fits in with my outlook and mission...
I just know right now in my time off from work - rather than go all big picture and abstract about
what I should be doing... maybe I can shift myself to steadiness by asking myself about
my mission statement... it's a really helpful tool and idea...
Life can be really abstract and messy inside a lot after a day at work or whatever really
...I'm reminded to use a good atitude .....to spin it to your positive action to take -
and I'm looking at my mission statement along with a positive attitude to take on
any challenge at the moment or that lies ahead!
Peace and good vibes,
Mark

How True Mark...Mission = Purpose and Meaning, at least in my mind....Many years ago when in college I did a Vision Board...clipping out sayings, words, pictures of what I wanted to manifest in my life...also about challenges, positive words/phrases. I don't know if you have access to a printer, no doubt all types of things could be found there...bring out your creative side :) and always a work in progress.
You maybe an older guy and not married, yet you never know what GG has instore for you~~perhaps a woman with grandkids? I Never Thought I'd be a mother...Poof...at a week before 43!
Enjoy the rest of your day :)
thanks Mary Louise!
Big hug Marky.... I hope that having a mission statement will be really helpful sweetie....I remember my mom used to say to me how toxic being discontent on a regular basis can be for us.... I've had a habit at times of seeing the glass as half empty during depression
I think that it sounds like a great plan sweetie.... Good for you.... xo
Thanks Jan!!
