Potty Training is NIGHTMARE!!!!
So we did the three day potty training. For those of you who don't know what it is it's basically a plan to 80% train your LO in three days. A friend of mine had success so she sent me the book. So you start by throwing out ALL of the diapers...no more diapers...ever. Then you spend three days within arms reach of your child...and anytime they start to mess themselves, or give signs they are going too, you rush them to the washroom. Idea is that they will start to recognize the signs tehy have to go. Bedtime you wake them an hour after they go to sleep and put them on the potty, and an hour before they normally wake.
We packed up the diapers(though we just put them in our room lol) and away we went. First off...you are meant to stay home during the three days. Ya, that wasn't going to happen. We had one of our neices fourth birthday party on Saturday(this was all last weekend btw) So she had an accident right after we arrived at the venue. But I had packed prepared. We were there for a couple of hours and she used the potty twice, no more accidents.
THEN on the way home we stop at this garage sale that I had talked to a lady on Facebook about. She had something set to the side for me...and they had a little potty for sale. And Marlow sits on it and pees! Through all her clothes and facing the street. Lol. So I wasn't sure what to do...I praised her mildly because she DID pee in the potty, but it was outside, through her clothes, and not in a potty meant for use lol.
But as for the rest of the three day plan.....blech...not for us.
But since she had been out of diapers for three days we just decided to keep it up. And we got some kushies(training panties) that she wears at nap time, bed time and when we go out for more then an hour or two.
It was getting better and better. I still wake her up an hour after she falls asleep but not before she wakes. She was waking up dry...she was peeing in the potty.
However, she wasn't pooping in the potty. But for Tuesday, Wednesday and half of Thursday the only accident she had was of the number two variety.
Then last night she hops up and exclaims "MOMMY! I have to POOP! NOW" so we rush off to the washroom...and TADA she poops in the potty!
Lots of praise and a toy...we just bought some cheap dollar store toys to mark really special occasions.
Now...since then it's all gone to HELL IN A HANDBASKET!
After she pooped she proceeded to pee in her panties six times in a row. At home and awake she wears regular panties. Last night her diaper got soaked and she woke up so wet she almost made it through the training bottoms.
Today she has had three accidents already. Not peed on the potty once. She sit there but she doesn't go. She acts like she will...then nothing. And she the gets off and pees in her pants!
I'm getting frusterated and I feel bad. But it was going great! Fantastic! And now it's horrible!
What do I do?
