Poop prank...not what you think it is
Dear DS diary,
The last few days have been nothing short of chaotic...the pharmacy is short-staffed now that a technician has left for a better place, and it's not looking like the owner is leaning towards replacing her anytime soon. I would have been in today for help but the place was so cramped with packing for group home delivery that there was no room for me. The stress is definitely eating at me, I'm coming home from shifts already feeling done for the day and it won't even be 5pm.
So I'm trying to fight off the demons a little bit by pulling a prank on some of my colleagues. This takes some explaining.
One of the pharmacists had a holiday party for her cousins about a week ago. As a party favor, she bought a couple of cases of spearmint flavored Tic Tac breath mints. I don't really know why she did what she did next, but then she and her husband had custom labels made to stick over the Tic Tac packages. They said Happy Holidays on the top, of course. But on the front side of the stuck-over label where the Tic Tac label should be, there was instead a picture of the Grinch about to shoot down a chimney...if you've ever seen the animated How the Grinch Stole Christmas, you've seen the image I mean. Under the image was the words "Grinch Poop".
I thought that this was a joke until last Friday, when she gave me a package of this so-called Grinch Poop to call my very own. So I've decided to have fun with it.
Yesterday, I brought this "Grinch Poop" with me to work, and placed one piece in the pharmacist's work space when she wasn't looking. When she came back and saw it, she made the connection right away. "Grinch poop!" she yelled, and she was hysterical with laughter. Then, three hours later, I did the same thing to my supervisor after he went out to get coffee, and when he came back he commented with a grin on his face about the fine "poop" I had left for him.
Neither had thought of me using the breath mints this way. There are a few other people I'd like to do this to. And then after the holiday, I will take the special label off and just treat them as normal Tic Tac breath mints, like they are supposed to be.
But I'm having some fun with this gag while it lasts.
