Poem... "untitled"

She was young, barely 18 years,
Highschool behind her, all the world ahead.
Blind ambition, not a worry or fear,
Until the day childhood fled.

This cannot be, she desperately prays.
She takes the test and awaits her death sentence.
The ruling comes like a firey blaze.
Too late for any repentance.

Scared and alone, but she couldn't speak.
They wouldn't understand. They'd hate her she knew.
A silent tear slipped down her cheek.
She realized what she had to do.

The day comes. She arrives to smiling faces.
Reassurance that maybe a wrong thing can be right.
And like a well rehearsed play the doctors take their places,
To begin a tragedy She'll forver fight.

-Hannah

This is just a rough draft. It's not finished yet either, but I'm sort of stuck here.

Hi Hannah, I like your poem. It kind of makes me sad, but that\'s because I know how hard you have to work at reaching your goals, given the beast we share. My oldest daughter really enjoyed creative writing in high school and she is now majoring in English. I never could write a poem, but I really appreciate how others can express themselves in this creative way. I hope school is going well. Take care, I think about you. Rose

It\'s good Hannah. I used to write a lot of poetry and essays, I really enjoy it and it\'s a great way to give a voice to what we are feeling... Keep up the good work...hugs jilly

To me it seems that it is about that moment from adolescence to adulthood and how disillusioning, terrifying, disappointing, and oddly freeing it can be. I love poetry, though I\'m totally incapable of writing it. I like things that touch me and this did. :-)
