PLANTING

WELL, I HAD A REALLY LOUSY SLEEP LAST NIGHT AND SINCE I NEVER SLEEP WLL ANYWAY IT WAS HORRIBLE. I WAS UP EVERY 45 MINUTES FROM 12:45 ONWARD. NEEDLESS TO SAY, I AM FEELING CRAPPY.
AS MOST OF YOU KNOW I LOVE MY GARDENS AND I LOVE TO GARDEN. THERE IS NOTHING LIKE GETTING YOUR FINGERS INTO THAT DIRT. WELL, I AM ALSO AN "INPATIENT GARDENER", I LIKE TO SEE RESULTS IMMEDIATELY. I HATE PLANTING FROM SEED AND HOPING THE FROST CDDOES NOT GET THEM OR WONDERING IF THE DARN THINGS ARE EVEN GOING TO COME UP.....UM, IS THAT THE PLANT, IS IT ANOTHER PLANT TRANSFERRED FROM SOMEWHERE ELSE, AH NO, ITS A WEED!!!!lol!! ANYWAY, I DECIDED TO GIVE IT A SHOT THIS YEAR AS BUYING THE ANNUALS IS EXPENSIVE PLUS THERE ARE PLANTS I WOULD LIKE TOT RY BUT CAN'T GET HERE. SO I BOUGHT THE LITTLE PEAT POTS IN THERE OWN LITTLE GREENHOUSE. I HAVE 2 TRAY FOR A TOTAL OF 106. I ALSO USED LARGER PEAT POTS FOR OTHER THINGS AND ALUMINUM ROASTERS FOR SURFACE SEEDING. I PLANTED BLUE FESCUE GRASS,TALL CLINBING MIX NASTURITIUNS, CANDY STRIPE SUNFLOWERS(THEY ARE WHITE AND DEEP PINK, REGULAR SUNFLOWERS, LIVINGSTONE DAISIES AND TOBACCO PLANTS( NOT FOR SMOKING EVEN TOUGH YOU CA. THEY GROW 6 FEET BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS AND LEAVES 32 INCHES WIDE AND LONG). I ALSO INVESTED IN MORE BULBS:3 DWARF CANNA LILIES AND 10 CALLA LILIES. OH , YES, AND A SWEETPEA CLIMBING VINE. SO FINGERS CROSSED THAT THIS WORKS!!
HAPPY EASTER. DEBBIE

I wonder if tobacco is hard to grow? It is pretty to see and I need something on the side of my house that is tall ....but is it perennial or annual?? I just ordered two pounds of wildflower seeds to use in my yard, it is about all I can afford, just hope it works...I have many areas totally barren and in need of plants, so hoping this is the solution. Keeping my fingers crossed, too.
Happy Easter and hope you feel better later today.

I quit buying annuals about 3-4 years ago as it was costing to much money. I grow some veges from seed but not flowers. I gradually planted perennials. They cost more to buy but they come up every year. I traded with customers and split plants too. I just re-did the front of the house (in the 2 days if spring we had) and it is looking really good so far. I put in some Stells\'d\'oro\'s (sp) that I split and some Jacops ladder. I plan on putting some Dahilas up against the house. You know the ones I said I wasn\'t going to dig up in the fall. I give you lots of credit for growing all your flowers from seed. It is a tedious job. My vege seeds are coming up pretty good except for the one Johnny ate. They are not allowed in the basement, but cats are sneaky. Glad I planted to many. Planned on some of them dieing. Good plan. It is 52 out but no sun, dang it. Good day to read or watch chic flicks. Ok long hug. Love you Naomi xo

Your night sounds like my night before last. Hope tonight will be much better for you.
The plants sound great. I\'ve grown tabacco up here and your right, the plants are very nice and I enjoyed the flowers. The only flowers I\'ve tried to do so far this year are sunflowers and they have not done well. I\'d love to have a variety of them but may end up buying them.
