Phrases that piss me off (just for fun)

10. "Just Sayin" End every sentence with this, really. 9. "On the real" No. No. Not on the real. It's been real, "on the real." For real, yo. 8. "What the hey"Where do I even start with this one? 7. "Catch ya on the flip flop" What does this even mean? Other than the obvious: don’t be my friend. 6. "Rock and Roll" It's time to go. Unless you want to smash up a hotel room and do lines off of supermodels, I'm pretty sure you're just telling me it's time to leave the mall. 5. "No offense, but…" What I'm about to say is going to be strongly offensive. The cousin of "I'm not racist, but..." 4. "Double Yew Tee Eff, Oh Emm Gee or Bee Tee Dubs" Really? Spelling out AIM acronyms in real life? 3. "I totally changed. It's like I did a complete 360." So you spun in a circle? Good for you. You and Ekhart Tolle have truly found the secret to deep insight. 2. "Anyhoooooooo" Self-explanatory. 1. "Literally/Essentially/Extensively" First of all, why is it that anyone who uses these phrases uses them at the wrong time? Example: "I literally died!" Do people understand the difference between the words "literally" and "figuratively"? Also, nobody is more intelligent just because they begin every sentence with "Essentially" or "per se." South Park literally eviscerated this in their dead-on Goth spoofs, per se.   Runners up: "Supposably." This isn't even a word. "Your", when the intended word is "You're." My son learned the difference in third grade, but somehow some adult somewhere will write to me, "Your a jerk" or "your not supposed to put tinfoil in the microwave." Someone actually wrote to me once, "Thanks for showing us your human!" What else could I do but laugh? The only grammatically-correct interpretation of the sentence is that I had a cadaver on display, and she appreciated being allowed to view it. "Basically..." People start every third sentence with this word to appear learned. "Maverick" or "Rogue" as political boasts. Seriously, have these people EVER looked up the definition of "Rogue?" Here it is: Noun: An unprincipled, deceitful, and unreliable person; a scoundrel or rascal. A thief. A deliberately dishonest person; a cheat.  Adj: 1. Vicious and solitary. "Awesome!" If everything is "awesome," then nothing is. Unnecessarily abbreviated words: Whatev, Boyf, Totes, Ridic..."Chillax!" This word was done about five seconds after it was first used in 1992.Plus, it sounds like a laxative brand."Hella." Followed closely by "Holla." "Irregardless." Regardless of what you may believe, "irregardless" is a nonsense word. "I know, right?" I still love the film "Juno," but I had to forgive it for contributing this dookie to our lexicon.  Just sayin'.

I don\'t like the way this conversation is starting to flow. If we start talking about our periods, Matt will see red. It makes me start to cramp just thinking about it, and I might start getting moody. If I do, I think chocolate will make it better. Or maybe eggs... Maybe I\'ll go have some eggs... Things like that help pad the impact. Of course, I usually have to eat chocolate for 3-5 days in order for that to help.

I couldn\'t work it in... but TAMPON!

Oh Matty...I am so sorry, seems all I have to do is show up and just mention a period and all sorts of feelings just seem to burst forth from us (them...notice I only mentioned it,...they picked up the gauntlet and ran with it). Eh hegm...Now, at least we didn\'t mention the well known cures for issues arising from the menstruation of the female population (that is me being all hoity-toity...professional). Maybe not-so-well known actually...like Matty, did you know the one best cure for cramps aside from a hot bag of microwaved rice on the \'ol tumtum? (Someone said \"deer corn\", and all I know about putting corn in a microwave...well, it tends to \"pop\", rendering it useless for those tummy-bag things, but quite good with butter). Oh well, this is another example of a journal going to Hell in a handbasket. Sorry (not really...it is just too fun to pick on you..smile, wink, smile). Hugs to you -- you deserve them for putting up with us.

LOL no no no Leitha, the corn bag doesn\'t pop because the kernels are cracked :) So, there you have the flannel bag of fantastic-ness so put anywhere you might feel aches...hehe

And I\'m going to put money on the fact that matt knows the answer to your question leiha LOL

Judy Dear...he isn\'t completely speechless...he used one word...a contraction..to (how to say this without sounding rude....) correct you. You see, we got way off topic here, but....your use of \'your\' to say \"you are\"...it IS one of his words from the original post...that piss him off. So, please Judy...I know what you mean,....and HE knows what you mean...but in the interest of helping him not to sputter and be all out of words....it is:

Your = ownership of a thing. \"It is your time of the month, not mine.\" Your...denoting a thing you own.

You\'re = You + are....you\'re.

There....that should do it. The use of \'your\' for the contraction you\'re is possibly one of the most common errors in grammar today. ~~~~Judy...I know you are making a point here...keep it up. It has him all flustered...hehehe. You got him down to just one word retorts...you are smooth woman!~~~~~

Yeah Dev...this IS mild. Has anyone been to Tonya\'s journal lately? ~~~~Just sayin\' ~~~~~
