peaceful day
Today as been a restful day. We went to church and heard a very good sermon. The rest of the day we just kinda took it easy. Had planned on going out for some shopping but just stayed inside today. The pollen this year has been awful. The car has been yelllow most of the spring but is finally back to it's regular shade of grey. I hope everyone is doing ok this day. I went outside this morning to take my pug for a tinkle and just looked down at the clover. My grandaughter and I like to look for 4-leaf clovers. I immediately spotted one and before I finished I had collected 12 4-leaf clovers. I could not believe it! I can usually spot one maybe in a week but these were just close around in one spot. Just silly stuff but fun none the less. It made me smile.
Steve will begin another round of sutent tonight. The doctor has changed his schedule somewhat. He will take it for three weeks and stop for a week. Then start back in for another round. Steve has most of his problems about the 3rd & 4th week of the cycle. We will see if this makes it any easier on him. We have resigned ourselves that this will be our life for as long as Steve can live with this horrible disease. I am so proud of the way that Steve has battled this cancer. He is still so strong, he takes vitimins and drinks Acai juice every day. He tells me that he and God are handling this battle. Thank you God for the blessing of this peaceful day. My love and best wishes to you all. Wanda

Wanda,
I will pray that your husband beats his battle with cancer...this disease regardless of what type of cancer it is. it\'s a horrible thing that we have to win the battle over before it continues to take our loved ones.. I believe in our life time it can be done. The fewer people that have to go through what some many of us on this site have the much better off it would be...hugs Ellen
Hello Wanda,
Glad to hear the words \'stable\'. That is good news. We must be grateful for every single day that our loved ones are able to maintain, so to speak, the status quo - and keep praying for the day that the huge breakthrough will occur that takes us all out of this battle victorious. You should be very proud of Steve for his attitude and desire - I am getting the supplements this week that I hope will help my husband too. As for y-o-u.........please make sure to take care of Wanda. Your health is important - too often the partners of cancer patients forget their own needs. Don\'t do that. Take care!!

Thank you Ellen and Gloria. I find such comfort here on this site. No one knows how we feel unless they have been in this situation. I pray that a cure will come one day, I truly believe in research, thats why we Relay for Life. I send my love to each of you this morning. Wanda
Wanda who ever thought that the word stable could be such a beautiful word. It wounds just like Steve, strong determined and doing all he can. I will pray that this new treatment schedule is kinder on him, and you. Please don\'t forget that you figure into this equasion too. You need to take care of yourself, or you will be on no use to Steve if things get harry. I pray for you both to enjoy all those 4 leaf clovers you found. Have a great week you two. Hugs Jane
Hello Hon,
I, too, pray that the new schedule of Sutent will work better for your Steve. So glad that y\'all had a nice Sunday. Finding all those four leaf clovers had to be exciting. Do take care of yourself. God be with you, my friend.
Love, Ingrid
What a nice entry Wanda. Hoping that those clovers bring you lots and lots of happy luck! And that the Sutent isn\'t too vicious this month.
I totally agree that research is such a wonderful thing - where on earth would any of us be without it? I can\'t think about it.
I loved what you said about Steve - that he says that he and God, between them, are handling this thing. He sounds so positive, and so sure of himself, and that is half the battle.
Wishing you a lovely, happy week, Wanda.

Dear sweet Wanda,
I hope Steve is a lot better on the new schedule. You are blessed to have each other and such a beautiful relationship. I always search for the 4 leaf clovers and believe they\'re lucky. So many you found - that must mean good things are around the corner.
Our youngest daughter did the 24 hour Relay for Life here last weekend. (I presume it\'s the same in US). Altogether over $A500,000 was raised at their ground. There are many run all over Australia at different times so a lot of money is raised here for Cancer Research. I just pray that research will bring a cure closer.
As the others have said, make sure you look after YOU, too.
Love and hugs
Angel
