Passion boogie

I’m noticing how my and our passions manifest here as monastics but also how they manifest out in the world. They seem to come out of all of us no matter who or where we are. It fills me with love and compassion knowing this.

I’m thinking how the Chinese (I think in Taoism) talk about the ‘monkey mind’ in us as an explanation for our passions.
Thoughts?

Have a good Sunday,

It's great to feel passionate about things

I used to be involved as a volunteer with a wrongful conviction organization and injustice is still really important to me although I'm not active with it now

Big hug sweetie...xo

manifesting passions? ? ? new chew for me. . . i'm gonna have to thunker on that one. my reactive thought is that passion is just another emotion which is mostly beyond my control. the heart goes where it goes. just a reaction. thunkery in progress.

the rest of the post make me wonder if you are speaking of, "acting out anxieties." those crazy little things people do to channel anxiety? i believe that quirk is universal enough to make use of the royal we appropriate.

i love the monkey mind visualizations. i use them often. my own brand is all-american hodge podge. your reference here got me curious on the origin. my search engine credited the buddah, himself.

Did I tell you I’m 2,000 years old? I knew Buddha himself at the ashram:)
