Paris in Spring

We are now in Paris.  We enjoyed our time in England with friends and family, and then exploring the Cornish coast.
Yesterday we took the 2 elevators up the Eiffel Tower.  After a chilly 2 hour wait in line we finally got to go up.  And what a view!  It was worth it!  Apparently the Parisians hated the tower and some still do but it really is phenomenal.
My friend's daughter is here for a year and is hoping to get a job guiding tourists.  We are very lucky to be her guinea pigs!  She is totally bilingual so we don't even have to use our sign language to communicate.  Joe and both understand and speak a bit of French, but it is just so much easier with an interpreter!
I love travel and appreciate the beauty, but it is hard knowing that Lisa can't be here to enjoy it with me; or that I can't phone her and talk about it.  However I do know that she is around.  She does send signs; when I am feeling down, I turn a corner and there she is.  But as we all know, it isn't the same as hearing her voice or giving and getting hugs.  I have probably said this before, but when we travelled, Lisa was the one who ensured that we stayed in touch. I always felt at home because she was there.  We made good use of Skype!  I feel so lost at times without that connection.  Our son is wonderful, but just not the outgoing communicator that Lisa was.
Another week and back home to reality!
Lisa:  I miss you so much.  I remember when we had no internet for 3 days when we were in England with Cevyn.  You were so relieved when we finally were able to connect.  I remember when we were in China and you Skyped to tell us that Cevyn had face planted on the tile floor and then the photo!  I could always count on you to keep us informed.  You knew how much we enjoyed travel and we looked forward to travelling with you again.  I will never know why you had to leave so soon.  We will celebrate your 40th birthday in Paris.  I wish you could be here in person to celebrate too.   I miss you always and love you forever.  Mum

I wonder why Parisians are not found of the Eiffel Tower? How wonderful that you have a personal tour guide and that she is also a friend.

We will always have a part of us that yearns for our son/daughter wherever we go. We can not travel away from our hearts. I know that Lisa wants more than anything for you to be happy and at peace.

Love to your Marlene, enjoy Paris. Terry

I am glad you are having a good time in your travels. It is so hard because we always miss our child. Josh was our \"communicator.\" He always was worried if we were late. He also maintained our computers. I miss him for a lot of the same reasons you miss Lisa.

Just try to have a good time on your travels.
With love,
Leda

Your trip sounds fabulous - but I hear you about it not being the same now. Still sounds good though and Lisa is with you in spirit and heart, I am sure. Safe travels and enjoy your last week! love Joanna

Continued safe travels for you! I understand how much you are missing Lisa\'s presence and the sharing that you would adore to be doing with her right now. The longing will always be there...

Had to lol about using your hands to communicate and so delighted you have had help with the language as it makes it so much easier.

Hope you are taking lots of wonderful pictures and I\'ll look forward to seeing them upon your return.

Gentle care as you explore on your adventure.

Love and hugs, Joanie
