Papers signed and notarized
So Saturday 2/27, my wife and I signed our dissolution of marriage papers and had them notarized. The parenting plan has been approved by each of us and both documents will be submitted to the courts soon. Due to a forced wait period and then scheduling a court date, there is a good chance my role as a husband will end around the first week in June. My wife intends on living in my house until the final day when she is forced to vacate.
Up until now, I have been able to redirect all my energy and focus from my feelings of betrayal, rejection, failure, fear for the futures of my boys and me, insecurities of myself, and overwhelming pain by applying myself in strategizing the best divorce agreement possible for me and my boys. I will be primary parent and have the majority of the custody. There is no alimony (she cheated) or child support. Anyway, Saturday morning, sitting at the bank I felt the weight of all my grief as I struggled to sign the very documents I had put so much effort into creating. The tears were relentless and irrepressible. They poured from my eyes in front of God, my wife, and the notary. I managed to sign and put my initials everywhere required, but collapsed when I reached the car in the parking lot. The sobs wracked my body for at least ten minutes. What made it worse was that even though my wife made the commendable attempt to hug me, I understood completely she had not even the remotest feelings of loss or regret. When she finally became impatient and sternly requested, "You need to get yourself together." I felt the knife twist in my heart.
I will say that over the rest of the day, I was able to regroup; mostly due to a great bonding trip with my two sons. I am trying to re-commit myself to building a good relationship of cooperation and co-parenting with my wife. I hope I can maintain this directive and somehow start to heal. It is much harder having to see her and interact with her every day until she eventually leaves.

I remember my crying and my ex saying much of the same thing. I fought \'til the end for my marriage, and looking back I\'m still glad that I did.
Thoughts & prayers for you my friend. My heart hurts for you. I can\'t believe that she can still stay living there. No contact or the least amount of contact would make things much easier on you. But at least you have that to look forward to. Better days ahead, keep holding on. :) TCB
ugh, this is so painful. Please cry as much as you need to. I went to church last Friday and had a good cry. Five years after divorce, I needed it. My ex and I cried together too. Terribly painful. Please find people who can be with you. Sorry to warn you, but when she moves out, it will be another huge blow. But as many people out here tell, it will get better. I wish you that the tears of sorrow may soon turn into tears of joy.
