i am relaxed. This morning I wasn't, something triggered a negative thought and i was brewing and getting angry. But I made a decision that I am not going to loose the whole day with this thought, i had to force that thought out, I said to myself, it has to stop here because it's not going somewhere pretty. Then I engaged myself in some other tasks, cleaning and tidying up. By the time I finished my cleaning I realised I am no longer thinking about the morning stuff.. oh I also found a nice movie and watched it, it helped.. distractions always help me.

Problems won't go away, but I have to forget about them temporarily, I cannot let it take over my life every single day. It is about finding solutions. and i cannot find a solution, I have to just say well.. just dont think about it, I dont like pain, that feeling in my chest, in my stomach, when pain takes over it's unbearable. So will play dumb, pretend it's not happening and problem isn't there.

I'm just reading a book called radical acceptance by Tara Broch. In the book she says you should name the negative thought and invite it to tea. Just briefly. It subdues the emotion and by naming it -it loses its power. It's just a thought-nothing else. It has no reality.

Just read this post and I often to the same, try and temporarily distract myself when it gets too much or I'm dwelling on it too much and it becomes unbearable.

Flashreturns, I also like your post and have listened to many of Tara Brachs talks on youtube and and have heard out her techniques about naming whatever comes up in order to loosen its grip. Great tips. Maybe I need to apply it more in order to lesson its power. We can do the same thing for the body, like asking oneself whenever a strong emotion comes up, we can ask "where do I feel this energy in by body?" and if its in the heart center we can place our hand on our heart and do some deep breathing, directing healing energy into that area of our body. Just wanted to share that as it just came to me from earlier teachings.

Thank you guys I will check the recommendation somehow I missed the first comment on the day, don’t know why didn’t see it before.
I really need a good book to help me get out of this habit. Books helped me before to get out of certain situations, I need something that helps me stop living in the past or thinking about the past with regret or nostalgia, it’s such a mixed emotion and I don’t even know why I keep looking backwards.
