Over the river and through the woods
Well, I am not myself, but I have beaten the fever. I turned the heat back down and put clothes on (Family and friends are thankful, but this is what ER doc said I needed to do as he did not want me breathing too rapidly with fever, so I had to quit bundling up.)
Supposed to be cooking for senior service today. Feel bad but people seem way more understanding when the hear the gravel in my quiet voice. Funeral on Saturday, but we will be out of town. They are panicking without me. I feel a bit bad, but I warned them that I am not dependable anymore (again silly voice makes people not push too hard) but I know that many besides me are sick or out of town.
We are leaving Friday morning for Grayling Michigan. Our daughter's dear friend has become one of our family and we are off to do our Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's, and a few birthday celebrations. It is too expensive for these girls to travel back and forth with each other, so we will be celebrating all weekend.
Shifra and her husband have two older children (7th and 8th grade) from his previous marriage and a 3 year old. We will have two hotel rooms with Grayson, Bo, Nicole, Leo and I. Should be an interesting weekend. It takes 8 hours to get there, I am packing for continuous celebration including the 8th graders birthday party at the hotel pool
All of us seem to have some form of cold from this virus, although Nicole and Bo are much better and Leo is starting. Do I pack humidifiers? What will Nicole pack? I will probably need to sit most of time..
Did I mention that Leo put his hand through a window at the farmhouse yesterday and will not get stitches? (pack bandages, neosporin,...) Oh heck maybe I won't pack anything. They have stores in Michigan.
Any suggestions for new traditions, since we are combining so many holidays? We already have a thankful notebook that we are required to write in each year. I figured on buying noisemakers for midnight on one of the nights. We'll read the Christmas story from the Bible. Hotel meals? Pool games?
Look out lower Michigan for the vanful of virus laden, bloody, choking, snotty, snarling, squinting travelers celebrating Chranksgiving Eve as only true cheeseheads can do. I am truly thankful for the mess of them.

If you are a cheezehead driving to Michagan I am guessing that you will take I294 tollway through IL. When you pass the 127th st exit you will be about a mile from my house! Wave !!! Have a safe and fun trip!

Wow Debbie, your plate is full. Life just doesn\'t wait for us to catch up does it? Glad you are feeling better but I might pack a few nose mouth masks for everyone to wear.
I too love the Chranksgiving Eve with birthday candles holiday. Celebrate all you can when you can. Sounds like you will have a memorable time and that\'s what life is all about.
You could have best decorated mask contest (to keep those virus\' away from you:). Our family loves to play catch phrase. We laugh and laugh ---especially with me and my word recall problems from brain fog, it turn into charades during my turn!
Have also bought the Wilton gingerbread houses and had gingerbread house decorating contests. I buy plastic tablecloths that I can through away after the decorating. We have everyone wear Santa hats on Christmas morning.
