Out of Body Experience

Having depression can be so weird. I bet that's the understatement of a lifetime. I can't believe the boat I'm in. I sit here struggling to comprehend how everything fell apart around me...completely. How did I let it get this bad?? Is all this real?? Feels like an out of body experience some days.

My mind plays tricks on me. Some days I'm led to believe the ones closest to me think I'm lazy and faking it. I know better. Doesn't stop the thought though.

Other days I feel absolutely thankful to have a supportive circle. One day at a time. I just can't wait to be on better footing. I don't know all that it'll take.

I'm ready to start therapy. I can't fight this battle alone anymore. I'm ready to express myself and receive a fresh opinion. I need to get back on my feet.

some of us grew up with heinous sitcoms and can sing psychologically important songs like 'one day at a time -one day at a time, one day at a na, nanana.... one day at a time...' at the drop of a hat.

Young people just don't have those kinds of helping hands.

So true. Times have changed and being young (or younger) is tougher than ever.

Just watch that till you pop.

I live my life in songs. I find songs I can express myself with. And I play them. Or inflict them on others (even better.) I've always handled my feelings with music.

One day they'll make a tacky romcom about someone and the whole backing music will be tacky 80s sitcom theme tunes.

I like your approach. We all have to find a coping mechanism.
