One therapy session and a group later.....

.... I feel a bit better. Group was ok. It is pretty small and informal but it gives me some people to share with. I can talk openly without judgement with people who have similar issues.
My therapist mentioned that he has a group starting up in October and he thinks a group would be good for me. He said that a couple of his colleagues have groups as well.
Sarah ( the facilitator of the Eating Disorders Group) suggested that if I decided on another group, NOT do the one led by my therapist. Apparently some groups are designed to encourage a certain amount of conflict in order to learn how to resolve things. She said it might be difficult to continue with individual therapy with someone who was pissing me off :-)
Speaking of him. He is going on vacation for 2 weeks :-( He says i can email if I need to and 2 of the other therapists in the group are covering for emergencies. I already miss him and am starting to worry. I will hold off as long as i can before I email to check up on him and make sure he is ok, as well as his partner. If something happened to his partner he would be so upset. So there it is...the official waving of my crazy flag.
I feel a little bad, a little sad. I feel lonely. I don't like that particular feeling at all.

I am happy you are feeling a bit better. That is a good point, you don\'t want to be seeing someone who was pissing you off, haha. I would not do well in a conflict group. I would be sitting in a puddle, pee or tears

I also feel lonely and trying to fight it off, its the first time in a couple of years. I don\'t like it either.

I don\'t understand why Sarah said that about your therapists\' group, but I assume you will ask him about what she said before you come to any decisions. Maybe she has some inside information. I\'ve been in a couple of groups in my life - don\'t think conflict helps at all, unless the conflict is defused with understanding.
