Did they display any of Picasso's earliest cut papers? I believe he was nine when he got started. Glad you had the opportunity to see the exhibit!

anthony hopkins did a marvelous portrayal of picasso in the 1996 movie, surviving picasso. it was one of anthony's slower movies, but i love both anthony and pablo enough that i've sat through it several times. i hold it as, hands down, the best portrayal of picasso ever performed. picasso looks just like anthony hopkins, doesn't he? (i hope you can hear the sarcastic tones.) since watching that movie, when i think of picasso, anthony animates my imagining.

i didn't see the movie until around 2k when drips in "the cloud" were coming together and software was rapid cycling. when i can consider myself an artist, there is zero doubt that the computer is my media. the cloudy-it insistence that i **must** work on-line and submit to every new and improved tool arrangement in the marketing department felt like asking picasso to set up a studio in grand central station. i was and remain furious at the very notion.

my hubby worked in internet security. he hated listening to my rants. said they sounded too much like what he listened to all day at work. over the course of my fussing and fuming while attempting to respect his boundaries, "anthony picasso" was born. when hubby asked how my day was, i could tell him, "anthony is ranting again" and he would give me my space for his own self-defense.
