one of my favorites

I love all the patients where I work but some tug at your heart more than others. This man has been there since I started to work there almost 3 years ago. He has to go down a long hallway to get to the smoking area every day he goes backward in his wheelchair to get there grinning all the way then when he is done I usually pushed him back. He was gone for a few days to the hospital came back and was on hospice care and today they had us make a hospitallity cart for his family which means he is leaving us really soon. My heart aches for him. His wife dumped him last year after his stroke he was so unhappy so some of the patients had me bring cake and ice cream and they had a good riddance party for him it made him smile. I am going to miss him so!

Going to work soon dreading hearing news on Fred! His grin and bubble gum cheek is embedded in my heart and memory!

take care of your heart too. Maybe a group card of all the stories of his happy times or the things about him, that made you happy when you seen him. Sent to family in belongings.
