One month update
Tomorrow (July 24th) actually makes it one month since surgery, but today I weighed. I am headed to see Kellie, my therapist, for the first time since surgery today so I weighed in a day early as I wanted to give her an accurate progress report....
Drum roll.......
In the last 30 days I have lost 28 lbs!!
I have also lost a total of 12" from the different places I measure! 3.25 just off my hips alone... in 30 days!! Amazing! (no wonder my smaller jeans fit! LOL!)
It has proven to be a smart move for me to only weigh once per month! I spend an entire month not stressing over the damn scale.... which has allowed me to focus on all the other successes along the way. It has been a truly amazing month! You know how it is when you are dieting and losing weight... a couple #'s a week.... and several months later you start to notice little things, like pants getting loser, or slightly easier to tie your shoes... well, all this and more has happened in a MONTH! Its hard to explain, but its like I can feel myself getting smaller every day! I remember reading others posts about this when I was preop, but it was so hard to wrap my head around what they were saying... well, now that it is happening to me... its even hard to put it into words. It is something we just have to experience, and I am so happy to be on this journey! There are rough days, and YES the head work is hard... I still want to eat sometimes (in the head) even tho the body does not want me to... But I will continue to work on the head stuff :)
First month.... FULL AND TOTAL SUCCESS!!
Second month.... I am going to not expect such a huge loss for month 2... I imagine the loss will slow down. So I am just going to follow the rules and work the plan! Next month will bring whatever it brings :)
Third month.... I will be back in class beginning Sept. 30th, should prove to be an interesting term. And just think, I'll be able to fit in those flippin desks-chair combos!
