on the mend......i hope, i hope, i hope!
Hi,
Awoke thinking of you, my dear DS pal(SSSS). I miss you very much......think of you and your day......wishing I could do more......I can offer the power of caring prayer......but wish I had wings that could take me to your doors for visits and laughter, tea and chatter.
The yard is freshly mowed, looks tamed like a mighty weedy lion.
Did I tell you that the new cleaner Mendy never showed up or called? So disappointing that she would do that. Surprised the heck out of me......her reasons can remain her own, but to not contact me is so rude and unprofessional. I don't understand that, she presented well......she made a promise and then she blew me off. MAN! She was not some kid.......still frustrated. I wonder if my world were bigger would I be this frustrated or would I keep on truckin' and feel nonplussed? I still think I would feel overall general crabbiness.....
I've been really sick this week.....caught a nasty sinus infection beginning last Sunday, but didn't get to the clinic til Thursday. The scripted drugs are helping me greatly! I went through two boxes (200 tissues per box) before the clinic. That's a lot of uckiness being expelled. The doc gave me antibiotics, nasal spray and cough medicine. It was hard to want to eat as everything pre doctor visit tasted metallic......my sinuses were really messed up. The winds and rain swept through our area with a vengeance and I remember feeling the scratchiness hitting my throat and thought NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Hell hath no fury like a sinus passage scorned!
I've had chinese soup, and creamy top ramen mostly, a little applesauce, some melon.......and then this morning around 6 am I ate an honest to goodness sandwich.......low sodium chicken on a deli roll, it tasted like real food! YAY. I'm not feeling very whippy yet, before the medicine I couldn't sleep long, as I continuously woke up coughing.......my poor rib cage!
But my rib cage is no longer hurting, another reason to celebrate! I'm getting better rest........not doing much around Sparrow Cottage. I couldn't go to the big event down at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens to honor my bosses life.........I cried Friday morning after I got off the phone with Sam. I really needed to be there, we all need to try to be there for those we love whenever we can......it's so hard not to.....we need the companionship with others.....to speak of memories, to laugh and cry together. My good friend Ruth was so disappointed......me too. And Sam was very sweet with me, at my disappointment. Count every blessing.......
Bruce is now working five nights a week doing maintenance at Walmart, but he's still out there trying for a better job. Currently he's doing testing to get on with Publix. There is a big delivery hub out near my house. The other position he's shooting for is that of a truck driver......keep praying for Bruce to get a decent job with benefits. It's very hard for the over 50's to get good employment....he's tried so hard, he's been so patient and at times I can tell he's beyond frustrated. Odd jobs cover the bases, but don't build that good feeling of regular employment and then again those all important benefits.
Please Lord, please help Bruce.........he's a good man, a hard working caring man.......
The other thing I had to cancel was the planned day out at the Braselton Festival on Saturday. Debra understands as she is still recovering from a rough sinus infection of her own......she's on her second round of antibiotics and still blowing her nose constantly. Feeling under siege. But her situation has changed once again, she was sitting with a woman with altzheimers and that was planned to last until school gets out. This woman's hubby is a school bus driver......the lady got seriously ill, ended up in surgery, something ruptured in lower intestine or colon and she was in rough shape. She has been in a rehab center and then the rehab center through her out........she needs more intensive care because of her altzheimer's disease than they can offer........so the woman is back at home and Debra is going to try to keep her calm and content until school ends, close to the end of May. Sigh, this situation needs prayers......everytime I think of this woman I remember Debra telling me how this woman and her daughter enjoy slicing chunks of cheddar cheese into their coffee mugs and then bottom's up............now THAT is an unusual habit.......
Can't imagine how that got started........I still haven't heard anything about the holter monitor results......that office and the way they do things confuse the heck outta me.....the doc left a message that I couldn't hear, it was garbled, impossible to understand. then the doc told me herself that she'd just left me a message and i should make an appointment. she transferred me to her receptionist. i wanted to know what the doctor said in her message, so the recept said she would have the doc call me back, that was midweek ago now......i sent them a typed email the other day and continue to hope for more information. the doc talked at length in the message i couldn't understand so it seems to me that she could share that message AGAIN.......i may very well need to go in, but i still think a little info is warranted........new doctors.........the second she realized that i have CFS/FIBRO she turned her whole body in her chair and everything changed........I felt the wind of dismissal. I would like to think I read her wrong, but I've had a lot of experience with this through the years.......we need medical care, can't constantly doctor hop, it's hard. The receptionist also promised to call me back.......it's not fair to keep a patient in limbo about something important. If it's not important and they make me come in for say nothing really do i have the right to be mad? That is another $50 specialist co pay fee in advance......if all is ok you'd think they would just say, that's what they did with the results of the other two tests........they said i was fine. No seizures, no brain weirdness (other than my own kooky personality quirks)........
enough of this chatter.........love to all of you........i'll be here mending. tomorrow three cleaners from a cleaning company are coming to clean my little place. THREE people in my small space, this feels overwhelming......they are to arrive at 11 am.......in my head i see them cleaning like whirling dervishes....in and out in short order......with me gasping for breath when they fly out the door. mercy...........three people come in and i pay them $80. please Lord, I just want one nice person for long term monthly cleaning.........

Wow, you've been sick. I hate sinus stuff. It's so messy. I'm sorry you were dismissed by that doctor you saw recently. Boy, I've experienced that before. It's a huge disappointment. Keep your head up, girl. Love you.
Ruthie, sinus infections are the pits. If the pollen has been as bad in Georgia as it has been here I can sure understand. I am stopped up today & when I went out to my vehicle earlier today it had that lovely green/yellow tint to it.
Also hate to hear that your new maid did not show or call. Since I too have had my issues with doctors lately I can sure understand your frustration with that doctor. So many of them lack good "bedside manner" like the doctors did when I was younger.
Will be praying for you as well as Bruce.
I hope by now your house is clean and sparkly for you and rio. I am with you about mendy not calling. just not going to work.I know you will eventually find a wonderful cleaner. that is both reasonable and reliable.
the doctor and receptionist phone message/tag I feel your frustrations Serce.!! and makes me appreciate my pc all the more.
I hope that all is okay, and that you find out what your doctor has said. I can relate to the not being able to understand .
Could maybe Bruce listen to it and see if he understands what the dr is saying?
I will keep you and Bruce in my prayers.rio too. Take good care and hope you feel better soon. ♥
Hi Ruthie blue eyes. I had a feeling about Mendy. ....truly I did. I had a feeling she was not who she said she was by name or maybe she was called Mendy ??...but not the person she presented herself to be. Something Suss...you know what I mean. Mmm.
I wish you could swoop by here and have a cuppa with me today cause I'm down and blue. In bed AGAIN !!! Ugh. Drives me mental living in this body. Wonder what I did to deserve this. Guess you won't be visiting though. ....bit too far a flight for a Georgian sparrow.
Glad your lawn is all pucka pucka as in need and tidy. Sorry to hear about the sinus infection...not nice at all. At least the meds are giving you some relief.
I understand how upset you would have been, missing the event for your old boss. I've missed so many things of great importance and cried my heart out. I so often feel like I've missed my own life ...huge hunks of it. Today I'm bedridden again. I think I already told you that...yeah I see that I did. I keep crying but it doesn't help. When will I ever learn. Probably never
I understand your disappointment for sure dear Ruthie.
Debra sure sounds like a kind and giving soul. So many people are struggling in their lives. This world is not an easy place for sure. We do not really belong here. Just have to do our time. My body is my prison cell today.
I'm sure you read the doctor's body language correctly. Most doctors are allergic to people like us with CFS etc. We cause them to suffer with Baffle Brain syndrome. We're not good medicine for their egos. We are not the easily fixed patients. We leave them feeling useless a lot of the time. Yep.. seen it so many times. CFS is like a dirty word to many of them..but not all.
Hope the cleaners work out ok. You will find someone good. Just be patient and keep persevering. Much love Di xoxo
