On learning to use Skype...and why

My brain is kinda fried tonight but I think I have enough in me to let the following out:
So, these people issues, on a face-to-face basis, are very difficult to break down...I seem to be really haunted by the feeling that people can hurt and are meant to (makes it small wonder why the labs have not gone well in retrospect).  This wall won't come down easily, but one of my friends here came up with an idea that might help poke some holes in it.
She suggested I try a video call over Skype with her.  That's scary for me, I only just downloaded Skype and haven't really gotten the hang of how to use it yet...but maybe it would show my black heart that not everybody is out to get me.
I need to go get a mic for my lappy -- actually, I'm probably going to try to get one with headphones -- and she'll be on holiday for a week after tomorrow, so I almost certainly won't get a chance to talk with her (through Skype, this would be) until she comes back.  And I can't imagine my first video call lasting for more than a few minutes.  But it seems like the lowest risk way out there for me right now.
It's at this point, since I've decided I'm going to commit on these occasional tries (do not worry, I am not leaving DS), that I pretty much have to ask: Is there anyone else here, other than the friend who gave me the idea (she's in, just a matter of when I can arrange one with her), who thinks they might want to do an occasional video call with me over Skype?

Me me me :P I want to!!!
And a few minutes or longer anything is good for me.
It\'s a big deal for me too, and I\'m kind of nervous, but we can work on it together :)
