Old Town Alexandria Open house/garden tour

I went last Sat on a meet up with some friends to see the Old Town Alexandria open house. These were private homes that were open to the public.  We, basically, saw the first floor. In one house we did go through the basement where there was a kitchen and seating area.  Unfortunately no photos were allowed in any of the homes, because they were private homes. 

I did take some photos of the St Paul's church, that was where we stopped for some snacks and drinks.  I did get the exterior of the homes and some gardens.  In the 2nd photo there is a iron gate and if you look with in the circle you can see a boot scaper, many of the old homes there have them. In a time when there was dirt roads you scraped your boots/shoes so you didn't track mud into the house.  Much like a doormat does now.  There is a statue of Thomas Jefferson.  And the inside of St. Paul's Church.
