OKAY DAY!
March 22: I actually had an okay day today. I got to be totally alone, in the house, for about three hours! That was awesome! I have not had that in a very long time. I am a person who needs alone time! So, when I am without it, I seem to be more out of balance than usual. It reminded me of the "good days" when I was a stay-at-home mom and able to do the things I "needed" to do without interference. Not that I got a lot done....I did manage to almost conquer the laundry...until everyone undressed from the day...LOL...I got the kitchen back in order...I had the "fancy" dishes out for the baby shower...and, I got the tax stuff ready to go to the accountant. Not bad!
For my tomorrow/today....I have to go to the bank, get toilet paper, tissues, and laundry soap, and that is all the "have to's." I plan on maybe working on the book, going through some of my clothes, maybe dusting and vacuuming...don't really know. What I do know is this is my spring break/vacation and I am going to do what I feel like, or not.
I have been watching Dr. Wayne Dyer on PBS. I have been a long time fan. He has what he calls the 80/20 rule. What that is, for those of you who don't know, is we use 20% of what we own and the other 80% is what we may or may not ever use. I had forgotten that in the past 2 1/2 years. So, I want to wean my closet/clothes to what I REALLY wear and what I think I might some day. Then, I want to go through the rest of my house with that thought in mind. I have so much "stuff". It, I think, might be very freeing to not have that extra 80%. Of course, that excludes the things in Scott's room.....that is a VERY different story! On the "regular" side of things, I have stuff I have NEVER used in the past twenty years! I have just kept it.... But, there are things, like the punch bowl, I have not used that in at least ten years but, I used it on Sunday for the baby shower...I think I will keep that!
Today, I have felt a calm that I have not felt in a very long time!
