Ok soooo...

I finally called my doctor's office to see about getting the referral to a GI but unfortunately I had to come in and pay a co-pay.  Once I got there I saw a doctor I had never seen before we talked for a few moments and he made a phone call and I got a script for Nexium.  Which has worked for me before I hope it will again. In all honesty I was hoping for a referral because I have still been having stomach pains and would have liked to get an expert opinion and an endoscopy just to make sure. 
But I am willing to try the Nexium and see if it helps.
I am hoping my shortness of breath is connected to my acid reflux.  I am worried that it is not.
I am also still having a pounding heartbeat at odd times, I am worrying about that as well.  But trying to stay calm. 
We will see how it goes. 
 
My Dad is doing poorly I am worried this could be it.  He suffers from Depression which he has self-medicated with alcohol.  He has been a functioning alcoholic for most of his life but since he lost his job it has all gone down hill fast.  He lives with us and refuses to go to the doctor even though you can tell he desparately needs to.  He is slowly killing himself.  I miss my dad he is still alive and here but sometimes it feels like he is already gone.
