Oh That Grand Baby

My Grandbaby is 3 1/2, will be 4 in Sept., I wish Brent could have known him, they are so much alike..... wouldn't ya know.
He looks alot like Brent, has some of his mannerisms but not his personality though, I know God gave him to me to help ease some pain, And that he does which leads me to this next paragraph.
His name is Jared, J.T. for short, is playing baseball, so Nana sits in the stands watching Papa, Pops and Pa struggling to get J.T. to stop whinning and get the point of why he has to stand here and catch the ball, to touch the bases, hit the ball with the bat not other children..... as he whines I'm hot , I'm thirsty, lets go to McDonalds, I want to sit with Nana, where's mama and so forth. Soooooooo he wants his Nana and I went to the fence to console him, and he says no I want Nana, (on the field)!!
It has been 15 years since I was "on the field" with Brent..... BUT I looked into those baby blue eyes filled with tears and something happened, one of those GOD things. I took that little hand and assumed my position. I crouched down beside him to give instructions and was in AWE of what happened next. He caught the ball like a pro, threw it home came back and high-fived me, and then did it all over again and again and again. It was like he and I were the only two on that field, we became one so to speak or God and Brent showed up. Then he went to bat and he did just that. EVERYONE was amazed..... I truly feel Brent called me out at that very moment I could feel his presence. I had the greatest time ever in a long time..... I found a new high!! I cannot wait until next Saturday!!!!

I love this! It just made me smile from ear to ear! I love that you went out on the field, that he was successful and that Brent was there! Love and hugs...Karen

That is a very beautiful, inspiring, tender story. Ken never played ball, more in to music but 2 of my 4 sons do and it is so awesome to watch these little boys and girls get out there and sometimes just stand around doing whatever, then getting into the \"game\" . There is just something so special about watching your child, your grandchild grow in the game of sports. I sit through all my kids games and now go to as many games as we can for the grandkids. So glad you had a good time. Kids seem to have a way to put a smile on our faces> Your friend, Sandi

I am sorry that I took so long to comment on that journal. I am a Nana, too. I don\'t know where I would be without my grand daughters. Jeff has 2 girls and my daughter has 2 girls. They can make things right.
