OFF WORK!!!
12-23-08-Tues. Eve.: Yea! I am off work for the next twelve days, including weekends! I am soooo hoping to get well! I am still puny and my nose HURTS from blowing so much! This Christmas is harder in so many ways and, yet, I am feeling "better" than I did last year. I am actually looking forward to my other sons and family opening their gifts. Last year I just plain didn't care! I am still looking forward to the holiday being over. However, there is, at least, a little bit of care. My son, Chris, got fired today, from his part-time job. He has sleep apnea and was 30 min. late two days in a row. It is really no big deal, as he only had three scheduled days left. It just hurt his feelings. He has been applying at radio stations as their sound tech. and I feel like this is really a blessing in disguise! I know he will be off in a new and better direction. He only has about 3 1/2 months to fill and the Spfd. Cardinals will be up to bat again. Of course, the bills NEVER stop coming! It has been seven months since we lost Melissa. That is so hard for all of us! Especially Adam. And, her family. Her family is struggling. The first holidays without our children is so HARD! It has been eighteen months since we lost Scott. I hate this! Still! I will never get over Scott not being here. Last night a couple of Scott's friends came over to bring me cookies. Awwww..... It is so awesome to have them remember us. It speaks a true testiment to Scott. And, to us, I believe. So many of his friends were such a big part of our family. I feel very blessed they have not forgotten us. At the same time, it makes me sad. Scott would be their age, now, instead of "Forever 21". I had such high hopes that as he matured, things would get better. Hope was there. Now, it is gone. Forever. I miss him so much! I ache with longing for my son! The weather here is just NASTY! In the past week we have experienced spring-like weather, sleet, snow flurries, ice, FRIGID temps, rain, and every other kind of weather except summer! I am so glad to be home! I do not plan on going anywhere but the post office, in the next several days! On Mon. or Tues., of next week, I am meeting a friend for dinner. Also, sometime next week, I am going to try and help Chris with his house. Aside from that I intend to work on my book, sleep, and putz around the house. I need this time! I am REALLY looking forward to it! I am striving for health and peace!

It is amazing that we are somehow better than we were last year...but yet that ache in our heart is right there. I guess we will be discussing Christmas 3 next year...I wonder how it will change again? I am so glad that there ARE things that you can look forward to and I really hope that you get the rest that you need. Being healthy will help your endurance on this journey. Happy holidays to you and take care...love and hugs...Karen
Ginger, take are of yourself. This bug is bad this year. I don\'t think my husband has every gotten over his from this past Feburary. This journey we are on is one we must take at our own pace. Just remember we love you & are praying for all the Mothers that are in there early stages of grief. Have a good holiday. Hugs, Connie

Ginger You take care of yourself first and foremost. The bugs seem harder to shake somehow. Have a peaceful blessed season and enjoy your days off and make headway on your book. Sending you love and healing. Love and hugs Cathy
You have such a good attitude. I kmow you still struggle. I had gotten better aftet Paul (my youngest son died.)But when my oldest son.Steven and my step daughter bothe died. (him DEC 10, 2007 and her AUG. 21. 2008) I totally fell apart and I sunk lower than ever. I have been fighting and praying my way back out of the dark since then. I am scared of Thursday and being around a big part of my family. I am afraid of the emotios. I will make it. I will get through it. I am with you.Love Peggy
Ginger, You are truly starting to heal and I am so happy for you. I know very well how hard it is and how much you yearn for your son. I had a \"minor\" meltdown with my nephews last night, but only minor. They love and miss their little \"Bro\" (as he was to them) soooo much!
I wish you continued peace and comfort in the New Year, Together, we moms will make it. Love, Judy
