I am going to resign from my part time job. The environment here in Maryland

has been hostile. I was a valued employee in Malibu with a spotless 11 year record

and also was at one point Employee of the Month for the entire store.

I have discussed it with my family - going back and forth about whether I should or not -

ultimately I know it is my decision to make. I can get worked up by all the input from

others about 'the injustices and demoralizing stuff" I've experienced but I have to catch

myself and take care of loose ends all myself...and not get moved to make a move

with out some sense of autonomy and responsibility... make sense?

The plan is, I have some savings and I am going to work at certain things this Fall on my own - and devote more time

to the monastery (the Abbess is thrilled!) and I am going to travel to California to see my parents

as well go to europe to see my sister. I just have to check if my pension will be affected if I resign

today - and then I will call the store to submit my two weeks notice.

We've got to keep on keeping on - and make it work.

In January I will look for work again.
