ode to a good morning

where sleep the night before might only come

after tried and true actions that set you on your way to slumber

then to wake in the early morning with starts and fits

confused and jumbled

not only do you want to get up but it seems you have nothing to live for

I set about my start to the day by doing other tried and true actions

of making coffee and drinking it in bed

of turning on the tv

the day's purpose doesn't seem to be there

why do I so need a purpose to transition to the daytime?

transition at both night and day crossroads..

i paid a bill and that set me alight with vigor...

and then the lethargy of the morning set in again..

the sun not yet up..

but thank god for Blue

I realized as much as I need stimulation to keep healthy

so does he!!

So my morning project was presented to me..

and then I fed him

and then I fed myself

and then I turned off the tv and jumped in the shower...

a vague sense of the day with only my memories of admiring others

perseverance comes to me..

I dressed and kept on with my morning - though I feel a fraction

of a man

it's a good morning now fresh like a daisy

I just know we can't always have a purpose

and in that vein transition automatically from

one place to the next..it's my animal and my soul..

and my living being to not be robotic

but to sort it out - so that the animal and the soul

can relish in the reward in moments after all the hard work.

for me it is enough purpose to live each day, good, bad and in between, to the fullest with what life has given me to work with.

looking for higher purposes only blinds me to what is already available.

thanks arfie! I just got my walk 'in' - it's a gorgeous day! I said hi to the people at the Old Agoura Park as well as picked up litter along the path. Just a thought...you have a hubby and a family. Your days are structured automatically. I don't mean that as an affront
but my 'ode' was just an embrace of the 'solo mio' - : ) Agreed that just the basic taking care of life is also a great solace
and fortunate thing. Grateful.
