odds and ends
I have two young pear trees and the youngest flowered for the first time this year but did not produce very many. I only saw one bee all spring so I helped him out by pollinating some by hand. As of this moment, I have some tiny little pears started on the older tree but none on the youngest.
On another note. I have a sparrow sitting on eggs inside my shop. I hope they all hatch.
I had several new visitors to my bird feeders. Two small whitish squirrels have been feeding on the seeds I dump on the ground for the ground feeders. They have black ears. They are slightly bigger than a chipmunk but smaller than a red squirrel. I googled photos of squirrels but could not find anything that looked similar… I know my squirrels quite well but I have never seen anything like them in my life. I will try to get a good photo of them.
Every day is a new adventure in my life! There is always something that makes me smile! :)
If I had to describe my life in one word, it would be with this song:

What you said about pears is how I feel about tomatoes. The store bought tomatoes are yucky compared to what I grow at home. I’m looking forward to this year’s crop.
the squirrel is cute as a button, why can't we get squirrels here, so unfair x
@ Shiney! I would gladly ship some of mine if it were possible...
@ MochaShell I think anything grown at home, with love tastes far better then anything bought in a store.
