noticing a pattern within me

I have a pattern of how I think. I am just getting a better glimpse at it.

I don't know what to do about it.. It is something I just have to work with.

I feel as though I have to fight it to keep things measured and productive

and in order. I am trying the best I can. I guess that's all anyone can do.

it's weird how I go between wanting a life that is completely of my impulse and indulgence
to then conversely wanting to march to a drum - a greater sense of purpose and order to my life - and I don't have
an example to follow. I must try and make that for myself. My friend at lunch talked about how he was a Denmaster for
his kids Cubscout/Boyscout group. I think I would have liked to have joined something like this as a kid.
I mean, it forces the kids to discover who they are - and what strengths they have - and to find a place in the community
at large. I have my problems and propensities - but feel maybe something like this would have helped me discover who
I am. My strengths and weakness. I don't know. Maybe I am being ridiculous. I am 50 years old - and I think we are always finding new answers - and we grow moving along the path of life. To grow you definitely need to put yourself
in situations that are about reaching past the comfort zones. That's how we grow.

Being a denmaster forces adult children to discover themselves, community, etc., as well. It's never too late to become a Scout. Adult volunteers are cherished within the amazing scout network. For what it's worth.
