nothing really.
it's still raining.......i'm seasick.
how are you? spent another day in bed in and out of slumber. took a shower.....which shakes off that grunge feeling. fresh and clean is good.
the rain is sitting on top of the soil........the skies are gray. the rain is quiet.....steady, unrelenting. i don't mind it really, but the barometric pressure shifts present their own set of problems.
dizziness and so on. the nausea. sorry, gripey girl is no fun.
i keep moving things around my house. art work......decor. to instill a feeling of life inside this little cottage. i have a new shower curtain that makes me happy! silly maybe, but it's just so pretty. soft pastel colors mixed with stronger primary colors....wildflowers softly rendered ---- watercolor art. so lovely. the background is a creamy white......the wildflowers are done in varying shades of blues, pinks, greens, yellows.......it has a Monet like quality.
From my spot in bed I can glance to the left and see this wall of beauty........ahhhhhhhhh. nice. (a ross after holiday clearance sale for $6.49) I wanted it the moment i saw it, but said no. go home. and home i did go.......but i couldn't get it outta my mind. drove back and wonder of silly wonders it was still there.......and then thinking the way i do i wondered if it was really pretty or if this came about from cabin fever?
whatever the reason it's very pretty. i ate some chinese soup earlier......and can't shake the queasies. oh well, doing a load of laundry......this sound is not as soothing as the rain so in a minute i'll patter back into the bedroom.
annie & rio just ate dinner.....they sit side by side swishing their tails like clockwork.
wish i could think more clearly, tell a tale .....something, but no all i am gonna do is go add softener to the wash.
love you dearly.......hope you are managing in as much as you can.......xoxoxo ruthie bird

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder - and no questions asked! If you are cheered by your shower curtain, that is all that matters. We need all the help we can get being shut in the house all of the time. This may come as no surprise - but I'm keeping myself sane by watching old movies. I don't change my routine much, but hey, it makes me happy. I'm watching an old Errol Flynn movie where he is sort of a pirate helping Queen Elizabeth I against the Spanish Armada. Lots of romance, action, and some history thrown in for good measure. The weather here is warm for winter, but like you, I'm not doing a lot better because of it. I'm finding out that I'm affected not only by weather extremes, but but shifting weather patterns. So, consider I live in the Midwest, I'm messed up most of the time because of the climate. I'm generally happy in my little world, but sometimes cabin fever threatens to hit. My big outing this week is to get a permanent crown on my tooth - had the temporary since Christmas and now it's time for the switch. I am glad to get out of the house, but I would prefer it not be to the dentist. LOL. Love you!
It's warm and wet in Joisey, Sparrow!
Small things make us chronically Ill people happy! Coloring and staying in the lines, does it for me!
Happy that you have Annie and Rio for company. Our furbabies keep us sane!
Rest well, sleepy Sparrow!
I love your gratitude! We have to find those small things. Our worlds have become pretty small. So, we have to find beauty where we can find it. Love you.
Shower curtains, pets, comfort foods, house plants, ........ it's those little things that add up to make our homes our refuges, our safe havens. I have a sheer shower curtain, with a cream colored semi-sheer cloth curtain over it ..... the curtains on the bathroom window? tee hee! When we were getting ready to move in this house, I couldn't find actual curtains I liked, so I bought sheer shower curtain, identical to the one on the tub, trimmed and hemmed it, then I bought a solid, cream colored shower curtain with a valance and tie-backs, trimmed and hemmed that and put it over the other window/shower curtain. My bathroom has a cream colored tile floor; sage green throw rugs ( them blasted tile floors are too cold for bare feet!); framed pictures of irises, lilacs, etc.; green candles. ........ I even have a vase of silk lilacs in a green glass vase and 2 green votive candles on the back of the commode - they sit on lilac colored doilies that I crocheted. A philodendron hangs in the window. My bathroom is my English garden - my escape from the world! On a bad, tiring achy day, nothing beats a bath with bath salts, scented candles burning in an evironment made for personal comfort!
