notes for the day
I've got some time before work starts so I might use it to think about the future. I am planning on going to the monastery in March, maybe for the entire month. I think of it as a goal. It would be living in community, it would be working hard to maintain the property and do good for the community at large connected with the place. If I were to get sick, someone would be there. It's definitely on my mind.

in the mysteries of my twisted brain, this round of your monastic ponderings generated a flashback to my time in volunteer camps. it was, ". . .working hard to maintain the property and do good for the community at large connected with the place."
when people got sick, it was time to go home. one for all and all for one, but nursing duties were not on the group agenda. the absence of nursing infrastructure did not diminish the nobility of the missions. we cared, but we were not prepared.
This sounds like a wonderful goal that would benefit not only them, but you.....a great place to ponder the direction your life will take in the future. I believe that someone at the monastery would be there for you, if you became ill.
Have a great day!
Would Blue be able to go with you? Sounds like a good plan.
yes!! Blue would be able to join me!! he would freak out I am sure - but he would get used to it. :) thanks guys!
Sounds like a good goal. I hope things will go as you plan them and you continue to be doing so well, Marky!
While I know nothing of a monastery life, I know how it feels to go away someplace different and feel calmed and at ease. I’m doing that now in a land far from my usual day and it’s empowering me and making me feel good about myself, my life path, and everything I’ve gotten through and am stronger for. I feel rejuvenated and when I get back to my ordinary life I will be full of so much joy for ly experiences, though a dip will be natural and something to work through.
Sending hugs.
