note

it's my last day of the weekend here. I woke up, slept in, which was nice but as usual the worries within me sparked

a bit. I looked beyond it - and just picked myself up and folded laundry and showered. I decided not to exercise.

I have to own that thought - that choice - because it really is a beneficial thing for my physical and mental health.

I showered and dressed and ate a little breakfast and then walked over to the bakery to buy a cup of coffee.
I love that walk over to the cafe. It's like a mini nature walk. It's almost spiritual check in - and though

I feel kind of weak this morning and stiff - the walk just inspires me to live life and 'get into the day' rather than live

in that existential spirit of the solitary morning where I question all, my existence, my choices and so on...
I texted my Dad and Stepmom and told them I love them. I texted my little sister who I will meet up with tomorrow

at the hospital where my Dad is having a procedure. Things are alright, I have the BBC news channel on and drinking my coffee.

Sending hugs, good kharma and vibes out there.

It sounds like a really nice morning sweetie..... I have found that grounding techniques really help..... The doctor that spoke about them stated that they help much quicker then mindfulness

I use my home as my technique because I like my little place specifically my bedroom and I just start to say out loud what's in my bedroom and how I feel about it

"I have a lovely iron and brass bed that's really comfortable... on it is a pretty white and mauve comforter.... I have my mom's vanity that makes me think of her and I love it for that reason.....and on ……

I have been in the middle of panic and going through this grounds me.....I imagine it would work the same if you're ruminating I guess it's because you can't think about and talk about these things and feel panic or upset at the same time... It really works.... it might be worth a try Mark..... Big hug sweetie....xo

Yay you for recognizing the worry habit, compassionately acknowledging it, then pushing past it. Old habits die hard and we still don't know if there is a yet-to-be-discovered physical cause behind our anxiety, but kowtowing to anxiety is no way to live a life.

I love having my weekends during the traditional work week. The crowds are MUCH thinner then.

Sounds like you had a good morning. It's okay not to exercise once in a while just so long as you don't let it give you an excuse to stop all together,(like me, LOL). That was nice of you to text you dad and stepmom that you loved them. I bet you made their day! Have a good week Mark.
