Not This Weekend Thankyou!
I actually had someone say to me today that I should try and find a male friend and start dating! She started by saying that since I was so positive and full of life and then she hit me with the idea to maybe try one of those on-line dating services! After I was over the shock I just said" not this weekend Thank you" Kind of a silly thing to say but I honestly did not know what to say. Oh my God I am not interested in dating or having a male friend. Only male in my life these days is my Son and my dog! With my Son busy with his work and his girlfriend and his own life, my dog is my constant companion and I am quite content with that! My Ron passed away only less then 4 months ago. I still feel very married. I will always beĀ and am still Ron's wife! I understand people mean well. but wow! I still can cry at any moment but I am able to control the tears if I have too.. Every day I find myself still not believing he really is gone and he is not coming home. He was the love of my life. Maybe some day I may feel different but today I have no desire to be anything other then Ron's wife. Diane

Others who haven\'t been where we are just can\'t get it. Some day she will look back and know how dumb that really is. Sharon
Oops, foot in mouth on girlfriend\'s part. I agree w/ Sharon . . unless another has been through this, they really just don\'t get it. Sounds like you handled it well. Hugs to you . . hang in there. xo, Dayna
Diane, I like your answer \"not this weekend\". That makes me smile. I actually talked to a counselor about this. My wife and I were friends of this girl who asked me out for dinner a few weeks after my wife\'s passing. She is married but has issues with her husband. A few weeks ago she asked me again for dinner. I went again, but again without the husband. I felt a little uncomfortable about this--dining with a married female friend without the husband. But my counselor says it is OK because maybe she just wants to comfort you as a friend. The counselor\'s point is if I feel I need friendship, I should not be afraid to venture out because of fear. Hope this makes sense. Hugs, Tiger
