Normal??

"Normal is getting dressed in clothes that you buy for work and driving through traffic in a car that you are still paying for - in order to get to the job you need to pay for the clothes and the car, and the house you leave vacant all day so you can afford to live in it." ~unknown
If this is the case then I sure don't want to be normal... Unfortunately I am painfully normal now. This is the bain of my existent.. living a life I don't see any purpose in, no point in getting up each day and going to a job I hate (for the benefit of who? a large internation financial institution) to be able to afford a car I hate to drive, rent that is too expensive for a house that is bigger than I need, clothes I wouldn't wear if I didn't need them to go to that office... and on and on and on. I am not trying to impress anyone and never have been like that. I dress simply, don't get fancy haircuts, I dont' drive a new car or have new furniture or 'things' in my house. I prefer used, cheap, and functional; long hair that doesn't need frequent cuts, durable comfy clothes and simple home cooked food. It will take me  a while to get out from under this lifestyle but I am working towards that. I got into it years ago to support my children but they are grown now; its just me. I've talked to my sisters and boyfriend and they understand and support my efforts... I know alot of other people won't... why would I want to go from making the money I'm making now to, most likey, less and having less stuff and not being able to afford alot of stuff... but my sanity and happiness is worth so much more than money and 'stuff'
