No longer remember......
I realize, I no longer remember what it feels like to feel good. I came down with a virus as a teenager and since that time I remember thinking I never feel quite right. If I did too much I would think I was coming down with the flu. I was able to work and function, but never felt great. Now, that I have been diagnosed with CFS/ME, I realize that all the body pains, the moments of fatigue, the mixing up of words, standing and feeling like I was going to pass out and the walking into door frames are all parts of this disease. In some ways, I do feel better knowing that how I had been feeling wasn't just in my head. That I have been dealing with symptoms most of my life, just at different severities, until finally my body could no longer return to a place where I could work or truly function the way most people function. My days are now filled with more rest times then up an about times, but still I try to maintain a quality life. I just no longer remember what it feels like to feel normal, free of pain, to be heatlhy......

Hi there. I'm sorry I didn't see your journal until now. Thanks for sharing your story with us. I understand how you feel for sure. I contracted Glandular Fever at 28 and this Sunday the 19th Aug, I will be turning 65. I have never been well or felt physically normal all these years. It has been a daily battle. So ..yes I feel for you. It's a big acceptance thing but not easy li ing a life with continual restriction. I feel like my life is permanently on hold. It eats away at me sometimes. Suddenly..I'm old. So much time vanished being bedridden. I'm really sad today. However, some days are easier and so many others have it so much harder. So we have to keep our eyes open and see our blessings, no matter how small. Wishing you well and sending my love. Diane .
