No Job for Now
I talked with my bosses today and they said it wasn't a good idea for me to try and take a vacation during the first couple months of my employment there, so I'm going to go home in January and look for a job when I come back. I won't have the spending money I would have liked to have for the trip, but at least I can go see my family. I think it's the best thing to do, especially since February is my bad month and I want to be able to keep my job. I think I will look for work when the worst is over, so that way if I crash really badly in February, then I can still keep my job and not have to go look for new work. I don't want to have to start all over again at a different place. What I can do is look at the mall for a job instead if I want some spare cash. I hope I can find a spot where I can sit, that's the only thing I need. As long as I can sit, I can sell. I just hope they are still hiring for the holidays, since Thanksgiving is just around the corner.
Speaking of Thanksgiving, I'm getting excited about it. I love cooking the turkey, and now that I have an audience (Geo's family) it's going to be even better. I love cooking for people, and now I can cook for his family and they can see how good of a turkey I can make. I make a good turkey. Not as good as the one my brother makes, but his turkey is beyond perfection. It's the best thing ever. I make a perfect turkey. My brother's is just beyond that... He barbecues it with hickory smoke and it comes out so moist and tender you can cut the breast with a spoon. Well, you can cut my turkey breast with a spoon too, but his is just so good! I think it's the hickory smoke that just makes it beyond great. I'm going to have it in January when I go back to LA.
Mood today was good... I got to sit at the information desk for most of the day. I'm glad I wasn't stuffing envelopes today, since all of them have to come back in the mail. They got the zip codes wrong, they put the 4-digit code in with the main code so it will all come back in the mail. Oh well, it wasn't my job, so no stress there. I didn't want to go into work at first when I woke up, but the day passed decently fast. At first the day was going slow, but it sped up. When I was home I was surprised that the day was over already. I feel good.... I'm hungry, but that's a good sign. I'm almost at my calories for the day, so that's good too. When I eat lunch in the cafeteria, I normally get more calories in since I eat heavier foods than I'm used to.
I have to go in early on Monday so I can help out at the information desk, since my boss isn't going to be there. I don't know what I'm going to do with one of the volunteers that works there that does whatever she wants.... I guess I will just let her do her own thing and only worry about what I need to do for my own stuff. She just kinda wanders all over the place, not really helping out, although today she did. She translated a letter for me that I was having trouble with. There were some words that I didn't know how to say in Spanish, so she helped me out with it. I don't know what else she did today, though. It's none of my business, actually, so I should stop worrying about it. I just know that the more time I spend there at work, the more time I have to shine, and the more time I have to mess up. I don't think I'm going to be messing up much, but I have been extra careful now in Managed Care. I was there for a bit today, but since they were expecting me later they didn't have much for me to do.
Food today was good, like I said above. I think I'm going to make my calories for the day, since I'm still hungry after dinner. I didn't have my potatoes, that's why. I think I'm going to go make myself a grilled cheese when I'm done with this. I'm down to 236.5 pounds now, too! I lost a whole bunch of weight fast.... I think I'm almost losing it too fast. They are cutting down on my Depakote, so hopefully that will make me lose more weight too (Depakote is known to make people gain weight). I did my blood work today, so they will call me with the results and let me know. Stress was low today... I did have a spurt in the middle of the day when one of my bosses asked me to do something and my other boss said no, but I listened to the one with the most authority and I did the right thing. Sleep was good last night... fell asleep with no problem and although I woke up tired I didn't feel that bad during the day. Mood was good... I hope I can keep this good mood going!

You are looking at the job thing very logically good job. I know you need the extra income but at same time you know how difficult certain times of the year are and want to handle things the right way. Going to see your family is important happy you get to go visit again soon. Going near the holidays will be so much fun even if its right afterChristmas. Sounds like you have Thanksgiving all planned out... you way ahead of me i dont have a clue what we doing for Thanksgiving. Holidays are going to be hard for me to get threw emotionally with my oldest son deployed.
i think it was good to ask them about your vacation and whether to start work or not and also good they gave you the advice they did.now you can go and have a great time, enjoy that turkey. good to make calories and that you are losing, i wouldnt worry to much about losing to fast, the lower depakote is contributing im sure. many hugsss
