Nice for a change

Well, I thought I'd better put in an entry now while I'm feeling good. That way, all you nice folks who read my journal don't think I'm this whiny, crying, lonely, angry person ALL the time.  So....after a two-week stint of more menopausal hell (with a three-day reprieve in the middle that consisted of me running around trying to get everything done), I'm finally having some nice time.   I've been thinking about trying to wean myself off the HRT, but every time a month of using the patch was up, I felt like s**t, so I'd wait 24 hours, and then start another month of putting the thing on (with 10 days of taking progestin).  This last Monday (9/29), I felt okay -not "great", but okay, so I held off putting a new patch on. I left the old one on for two more days, then removed it on Wed. Thursday, I started my period, which was like it used to be, how did Granny put it?...."like a stuck pig".....and I felt GREAT! Thursday and Friday I bled, and I felt energetic and happy! I cleaned the floor, pulled out all the pots and pans, cleaned that cabinet and put in new shelf liner (the old one was some old vinyl flooring that someone had put in there before I was born and its edges were all curled up causing the utilizable space in that area to be much smaller). I made hot fudge for the upcoming Ice Cream Social at my daughter's elementary school, and I cleaned the area around my drawing table. It's now Sat. night, and while I don't quite feel as energetic, I still feel GOOD!! I haven't cried or gotten unreasonable angry since Sunday, I have patience, tolerance, and understanding, and I really am enjoying being alive like I have not felt in what seems like a long, long, long time.   I'm trying not to think that maybe this is it! The End of It! Or at least the beginning of the End of It! In the past whenever I got over a Bad Episode and breathed a sigh of relief..BANG! it'd hit me again, and not only would I feel like s**t, I felt like s**t AGAIN.   So I'm going to try not to get my hopes up (although having a whole week or, dare I even think it, TWO weeks of feeling at least Okay, would sure be incredibly welcome)! Halloween's coming, and we've got a costume and decorations to deal with. Oh, my gosh, the last two holiday seasons have been so unhappy for me -and consequently, my family- that they didn't feel like holidays at all.   I'd sure like to be able to get into the spirit of the season this year, instead of spending it laying on the couch crying and wishing everyone would go away and be jolly somewhere else.  Anyway, here's hoping!
