New job, new beginnings

I found a new job after looking for almost 2 months. I am an IT consultant, so typically I am hired by the vendor providing the end client with services, and sub-contracted. Then when the project is over or they can't afford to pay me anymore, I move on. The last few times I looked for a new job it took much longer than it used to, I think that is because I am now looking for senior roles. I would like to settle down, and this could convert to being an employee. It's always exciting/scary to start a new job. I don't want to mention the name, but I am working on the web applications for a rapidly growing company that makes electric cars. Although their US office is in California, I will telecommute from home. The week after next they plan to fly me out to their office for some meetings.
Some new friends invited me to their family seder for Passover. I used to make the seder for my mom the last few years, and bring my friends. This year I had no plans, so it was nice to be invited. There were about 40 people there, very nicely planned and executed, I had a fine time. I look forward to returning next year. They collected $20 from each person to pay for the party room they rented. I folded mine into an origami Star of David, they loved it. They made their own Haggadah (the book for the service) which included a quote by George Carlin - gotta love that!
I also went to my synagogue for services the last two days. I haven't gone in several weeks, I had a lingering cold or flu, but I'm feeling better now. It was nice to see my friends there.
Yesterday I planted a lot of seeds in flats, some veggies, herbs and flowers. I live in an apartment building so I grow plants indoors. A couple of windows get good light, also I have a couple of grow lights. Last week I prepared some seeds for carnivorous plants, venus fly traps and sundews and pitcher plants. They need to be cold stratified in the refrigerator for a month. I also have two plants from cuttings from my mom's plants. They almost died last year while I was dealing with my wife's illness, but I nursed them back to happiness.
