Before starting full-time employment, I had three things that kept me happy: ITT (International Talk Time, a ministry I have been a part of for six years), BHC (Beading Hearts Club - a guild for my jewelry-making hobby), and my boyfriend. Well, my boyfriend dumped me, the BHC is on the fritz, and my hours at work make it nearly impossible to do anything with ITT or the BHC. I still bead in my free time, but I miss the fellowship and mentoring of the groups I was formerly a part of.
After the Science Teacher dumped me, I wallowed in misery. I had nothing in life to look forward to or be happy about. I hated just about everything. Well, I still do.
But I decided to try to do something about that. I filled out an application and began the process for volunteering at a local hospital. I can either sit around and mope about how much I hate my life, or I can try to find something to ease that burden. Volunteering at the hospital takes me closer to my ultimate professional goals, helps me personally, and allows me to give back and provide for others. It's perfect.
Whoo-hoo, a career as a candy striper!!!
We'll see what else the future holds.
