Nesting Mode..........so WEIRD!
Hello,
Thinking about ya'll........wondering how you are doing!
My body is in nesting mode. Like a woman nearing the end of her pregnancy, I have this thing in me that wants everything to be ready, in order.......what is this all about?
After the water was restored I started washing stuff. Pretty much everything not a cat or simply too big to get smushed into the machines. Bathroom rugs, sheets, comforter, throws, pillows too........and even some clothes. LOL.
I bought this new Lysol cleaner that smells like disinfectant heavily laced with lemon...........this product claims that no scrubbing is required. I thought can I aim and squirt? Yes, yes I can.........so I aimed and squirted bathroom surfaces, it's easier than scrubbing bubbles even. I did have to do some follow through wiping, but I didn't have to scrub. Nice. Almost as fun as squirting a squirt gun.............and nobody squirts back!
Yes, it is hard to unmake and then make up the bed.............but ohhhhhhhhh myyyyyyyyyy fresh clean soft sheets are the BOMB. Rock Stars in my life..........so insanely nice to lie down on fresh linens. Last night I wiggled my toes to show my level of HAPPY.........weird but necessary and true. I didn't have enough NRG left to wriggle much else............but I did my best to celebrate!
I pushed my sofa forward so I could clean and retrieve kitty toys........I was too tired to push it back so I left it at an angle.........I have a smallish living room, so it is kind of funny.........I am trying to create the illusion of more space than what exists........but I'm sure that for any dress right dress person my angled couch would make their head hurt. I had already pushed the rug forward so it was easy enough to push it back at an angle.........did the same thing with the chair. I promise to never put the furniture on the ceiling.......but other than that ya just never know.
Sara recently declared that she is indeed her Mother's child because she too likes to shake things up in her own home. It's a blend of recycling what you have into other rooms to freshen the view and your appreciation for what you have and it also limits shopping expenses by a ton.
I showed Sara one of my November journals and she said you have no idea do you Mom.........no idea at all.................she told me to write, write, write. That is quite the endorsement. Huh............sometimes out of the pain comes something beautiful, something that helps others, something that makes a person feel like they can........hang in or hang on. I am so grateful to have the ability to write at all, great therapy, great learning opportunity.........how to do this journey with illness and the biggest best bonus of all...........to know ya'll..............!
I managed to get my trash to the curb, yeah I used my car to do it, but that's alright right? I put my pumpkins next to my mailbox and somebody took them.........I hope they became pie or pumpkin seeds or pumpkin bread or some yummy old spiced pumpkin butter..........I used to do a lot more with stuff back in the olden days.......before I decided that less is more. That rest is best. That pacing is wisdom.....that compassion is key.
That's right...........a long time ago I journalled about Permission Therapy and it is something important for all of us.........to permit ourselves to do what is best and right each day. To be kind........generous with ourselves (so we can protect the spirit).........to be patient........we would all prefer ability over disability any day of the week........it is very hard to live within the parameters of a life so confined/defined........it is even harder to learn how to do it with grace and joy............always my goal.
Somedays I make it and other days I am wise enough to know that it is ok to be blue..............it is. I don't have to be up or down every day........I don't have to bully or punish my spirit every doggone day........I can be quietly at peace, quietly feel joy.............what do I know? Sometimes I think I wish I could be as wise and as smart as needed to deal with chronic pain and illness.............today I am happy that I have some clean fresh spaces in my little house and that after I eat an egg I can sleep....................note to self, Annie needs to go to the vet for a routine something or other......call the VET and make that appt. Yes Sir, can and will do that........!
Later, take care.......praying for all ya'll.............!

Good to hear that you - the water - the washing machine & the Lysol got so much done but even beter to know that you know not to overdo it. I\'m the same way today, if I accomplish anything period I will be happy, if I do nothing more than feed myself I will still be happy.
Yes, for those of us who want to do but just can\'t some days, we need to know when those \"can\'t\" days come & yield to them so we can have some \"can\" days as well.
underdoing can still lead to overdoing........i was able to make breakfast by sitting in my rolling chair......LOL! my back is pretty mad after yesterday, but in a day or three it will relax......seriously appreciative that I have ice packs! whooooooeeeeeeeee. in a little while i\'ll get some more can do days.........time to rest for a while. my house is so proud to be clean and shiny! It stands taller..............uh huh, does too!
I\'m going to head back to my deadlines, but first wanted to read at least part of this journal ... I know exactly how you feel about clean sheets. Us lupies don\'t get to have that all that often due to lack of energy/resources, so it is wonderful when we get them. also, I get that nesting thing at the beginning of every menstral cycle, which is very odd, so I totally understand. just don\'t wash the kitties lol. xoxo
Love you and your journals....behave yourself k? xo
What a great journal, loved it. Give yourself a pat on the back for getting that washing done.
((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))
Thanks for the hugs and well wishes. Still feeling like crap. I was not going to put up my tree since it is to big and I have so much decor for it. My daughter in law used to work at Dansk so I have many beautiful tree things. I had to go to the dentist and then to the doc, was gone 5 hours in which time hubby went and bought a smaller tree (pre lite) and decorated it with gold beads and small gold ornaments and a gold topper. It is so pretty. He said he had to have a tree for x-mas and wanted to surprise and that he did.
We were with out water too. The hot water tank took a dive. Quick $700.00 dollars. Hubby is a plumber but the tank is down stairs and no way was I letting him try that. Then the dishwasher went...told him I could live without it. Next day here comes the delivery man with new washer and installed it too another quick $400.00. Now I can\'t eat for 3 months LOL
I did put up my nativity scene. Ruby came out of the living with Baby Jesus in her mouth and dropped Him at my feet. Was that a sign or just a bad girl. No punishment. We don\'t do that. A strong no is all she needs. He is resting back in the manger.
Haven\'t felt good enough to get on here but so read journals here and there. You are always amusing and amazing and always manage to give support when you are the one who needs it the most.
Going up north to see the children and grandchildren. I think a long ride will make me feel better.
Hope you are feeling better...............Now take a bath. LOL Naomi xo
I\'ve had this nesting mode thing, and it is ALWAYS right before a really long, bad flare... like my body KNOWS it\'s coming and wants to rest in a nice clean, tidy, organized home.. and if it\'s not a flare, then it\'s \"Aunt Flo\" coming, which is what happened recently :) LOL...
