narcissistic injury lol

oh I had some troubles with a very bitchy queenie priest.

he left me feeling so insulted and mistreated - but

I removed myself from his company and I came back up to my room.

Blue is here and thank God for him and you guys. I went to the washroom

and cleaned myself up, used some mouth wash and sprayed on some

fragrance and I am feeling much better now.

I know we probably have to all deal with moments like that - it makes

me want to define from within like a battle fortress - but I can't do

that - as I said a few journals ago - it's a balance of both - the inside world and the outside world.

I can't wait to see my family on our Sunday Zoom call!

Happy Sunday you guys!! xoxox

well done on the plying of therapy tools. way to navigate the psychic confusion! the tools work when you work them.

as i started to read along, trying to imagine what a "narcissistic injury" might be, i had a flashback to a time i walked away from such an exchange, went to ply self-care but was so caught up in the exchange that i blindly grabbed a tube of muscle ointment and commenced to brush my teeth.

i have since done a mini-surf to see if "narcissistic injury" injury was a father questionarius original or yet another catch phrase i managed to miss. turns out it is the latter. what little i read deepened my sense that "narcissist" is the most confusing word in the psychobabble dictionary.

that's kind of funny but kind of dangerous that you put muscle cream in your mouth???
thanks for cheering me on arfie. I learned this phrase from my therapist. We joke
about that life can be understood as 'a series of narcissistic injuries..' :)

even with the speedy rinse out, muscle cream in the mouth is a lesson that sticks with you. i can't remember the confrontation nor the combatant of the dispute, but i will never forget the taste of that muscle cream. just the dab had staying power i could have lived without?

was it narcissistic of me that, at the time, i blamed the person i was at odds with? he/she made me do it! ! ! or was it the royal we who made me do it?

I'm starting to see the way of things for myself. I know I feel deprived sometimes about
going for what I want to purchase - but instead of feeling deprived I will choose the perspective
of 'being smart' - ‘for me’ - to deal with and create the financial resources that ultimately I do want to have.

I think this observation of my reaction of building a fortress for myself at the incident of a narcissistic injury and the decision to deal
with it in an extreme way
has helped me see that I can provide myself a boundary of health and happiness - just in a smart way
rather than simply feel or impulsively sense that I have to live in a fortress of being.
I'm choosing
'the positive' of how to think about my life's efforts and work. I know we can’t live separate from others or separate unto ourselves. It’s a mix.

thanks judy! I think my therapist mentioned it just in terms of a hurt of the ego that everyone has - not necessarily a disorder..
but I hear you and thank you - I had never researched that before.
