My Trip

My trip was great...almost stress-free flights. I was so excited on my way that I chatted up everyone around me, SO not like me in the past few years. I think I was just so excited and happy that I had to get some of it out somehow.

The night of the Halloween Park was fun. It was cold...starting at 44 degrees when we got there and dropping to 36 degrees when we finally gave it up and went home. I was on fire, I couldn't stop smiling...heck, I couldn't help starting conversations with anyone and everyone that got too close to me. Talking to Annah after I got home I told her I had felt like the old Gina, and she said she felt the exact same way, like the old Annah. It's like we forgot we were middle-aged adults and just ran around like school kids. We girls, Annah, her daughter Tessa and I had been to a salon for blow-outs earlier in the day and all had sleek and shiny hair and were feeling really good about ourselves. Annah's husband Brett rounded out our foursome, and he is a fun, easy-going Aussie...at times it seriously felt like we had no adult supervision.

I had a short breakdown, but I recovered quickly, not wanting Tessa to see me crying or bring down the mood of the group. I went in to see a palm reader, something I have never done, and it was painful. There were things she talked about that hurt me deeply, even though I did not believe them. She jumped to conclusions in a twenty minute session...I mothered Cassi 22 1/2 years, I know more than she does. And even though I did not believe what she suggested, just the words in the same sentence with my precious child's name was devastating. It turned out her real job was actually a grief counselor and she felt she could make assumptions based on my daughter's symptoms because it's what she has observed in other girls. It's not that simple...my daughter was an individual with individual circumstances. If the cookie cutter approach worked then solutions would be more easily assigned.

I had fun, but was ready to come home. Short trips are going to be my thing for awhile.

Oh, Almost forgot, a miracle!!! No guilt, not a bit. It has settled back in now, while I am at home sedentary...but during the trip, not a bit!!!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Love,

Gina

LOVE that you had such an enjoyable time my friend!! It's good to forget we're adults sometimes....that's why I have karaoke parties so often, LOL!

I say don't put any more energy into what the palm reader had to say. My feeling is, if she were really a grief counselor, she would not have said what she did to you. That's NOT how you comfort someone! And making assumptions is NOT what a real medium does! There IS a huge difference in real and fake readings. I'm not convinced yours was the real deal. But I may be completely wrong. Don't think so, but maybe...

Best of all.....NO GUILT! That is HUGE and I couldn't be happier for you!!

Now, plan your next adventure!!! Give yourself something to look forward too!!

Love and hugs,
Teri

Short and sweet did it for you and WAY to GO, Gina! I was hoping that this would be just what you needed and it feels as if it was.

Here's to more travel and knowing that wherever you go, Cassi does too and she's itching for some more places to adventure to perhaps.

Your wisdom is within so what anyone says to you that is on the "outside" is just that, on the "outside." Center in your heart and rest there where your truth lives.

Gina, so happy to hear you had a good and guilt free trip! You deserve to smile!

As Teri said, I would not put any more energy into what the palm reader said. You know your precious daughter better than anyone. And as you said, your daughter was/is an individual and we as humans are complex so she shouldn't have assumed anything.

So glad you enjoyed your trip and are feeling short trips are going to be your thing for a while. And why not?
Much love to you and dearest Cassi, Linda

Hi Gina,
I am so glad that you enjoyed your trip - short trips work for me as well - we have a 2 week vacation planned in March and I'm already thinking about the time away from my cocoon.

I'm glad that you were able to laugh and relax - you deserve that! Sounds like Cassi was there right beside you.

Guilt is the gift of life and I often go in out of it......I can tell you it never does me any good to sit in it...I just heard that sometimes in our quiet times, if we're not careful, our thoughts can go around and around, never making sense and spiraling us out of control....I do it sometimes, though .....as I've said before, I feel like "twisted sister" sometimes.....

Gina, always glad when you are here - hugs and love.....Vicki
