My Sister's Birthday

Today is my sister's birthday. I called her for her birthday. I call her about once a week and talk to her for about an hour. Today we didn't talk too long since she was having my brother and his girlfriend over her house for a barbecue. She is a hard worker, and I'm glad that she is having a good birthday. She didn't have to work today (she works 12 hour days Monday and Tuesdays, soon to be Monday to Thursday) and neither did her husband. She's a vegetarian, or at least trying to be one. She's doing it out of moral respect for animals. She doesn't want to eat anything that has a face. She still drinks milk, eats cheese and eggs, though, which is good because she needs the protein. I know you can get protein other ways. She is having trouble with losing weight and thought that it would be a good way to help her lose weight as well. She has blood pressure and thyroid problems, and she's only 33 today. I hope that my mom's stroke can get my sister to exercise more.
Today I tried doing week 3, day 1 of the 5k challenge and just failed. I don't feel bad for failing, I did the best I could. I just don't have the energy to jog for 2 minutes at a time. I did it a couple times, and then just walked the rest of the time. I finished my 1.2 mile walk in 35 minutes, so not too bad of a time. I don't think I'm going to go back to the challenge until I am in better shape and can do the jog for 2 minutes at a time for longer. I'm going to keep up with my walking, and still be training for my 5k, but I won't be doing the jogging part as intensely anymore. I want to be able to jog more, I just don't think I can do the 2 minutes consistently. I also had stomach problems and threw up a bit before I went out for my walk, so I really didn't want to push myself too hard. I didn't throw up much, just a tiny bit from coughing too hard.
I hope I'm not getting sick. I don't want to be sick, and especially not when I have the “Date with My Dad” thing coming up. I'm looking forward to that. I was thinking about my dad a bit today, and trying to think about the good memories and having more success today than I was yesterday. I did have some of the bad memories come up, but I can overlook them for now. I think it's because I slept good last night. I got about 14 hours of sleep, and felt really good. I know I'm still sleeping too much, but at least I'm getting sleep and feeling good. Besides the coughing/barfing thing earlier today I felt pretty good. I've been awake all day and didn't need to take a nap. I did lie down for a while when I had a headache, but I didn't need to fall asleep. I think it's the computer giving me a headache... I noticed that when I was on the computer I was having problems. I need more light when I use the computer, but a lot of the time Geo is sleeping and I don't want to turn on the light. I guess I need to just use the computer in the other room or something so I can prevent migraines from happening. That and get new glasses. I've noticed that when I get tired my eyes get foggy and I have trouble reading things like the computer screen.
Food was good today. I didn't report on food yesterday, since I was having computer issues, but I did good yesterday too. I was in my calorie range both days, and in range for all my nutrients as well. It's been the first time in a while that I've had 2 days back to back where I have everything in range. I had oatmeal for breakfast, soup for lunch and Indian Tikka Masala for dinner with rice and curried potatoes. It was so yummy! I wasn't sure how my stomach was going to respond to the food since I had trouble with oatmeal, but it was fine (at least so far). Yesterday I had pizza for breakfast, chicken nuggets and part of a cookie for lunch, and some Pad Thai for dinner. I know it sounds like I had some really bad food yesterday, but they were low fat nuggets (baked) and the pizza was leftover from the night before. I somehow ended up in my ranges, and that's what really matters. I lost some weight, too. I'm down to 243.0 now, which is good considering I was at 244.0 yesterday. I think being in my calorie range is what's helping me lose weight. Stress was low today, just had a bit of bad feeling when I couldn't do my jogging, but it didn't last long. Mood was okay overall, just a bit of down with the jogging as well. Sleep was too much, but just enough if you know what I mean. I needed that much sleep to get on with the day.

You seem to do best on 12 hours of sleep a day, getting 14 hours is to much for you, you need to wantch that. Don\'t be to hard on yourself over the jogging, you will get there in time, be patient. Your doing good with food, keep it up.

an overall good 2 days, thats great. yes, definetly move the computer so you can see, serious eye issues ca occur. if your glasses are getting foggy, hun, you need a new pair, new script. please dont delay on that, it is most likely the culprit form the headaches. i think you have done fantastic with the 5k training, and good for you on not dweling on the jogging part. it will all come in time, little by little. hugss
