My sister is starting to live more indenpendantly.

My sister had a meeting with her caretakers and family yesterday and they are setting her up to live alone in my parent's house. This is what most of us wanted to happen, though many want her to have someone living with her 24/7. The social workers and her case handlers think she is too capable to allow that, That kind of care is for those that are unable to care at all or would hurt themselves. My sister does not try to hurt herself though accidents can happen and she can dress, shower, feed herse3lf and much more.
So as I have told people she only really needs people to come in in the morning and make sure she is alright, takes her meds and eats breakfast. My sister can't cook though she could probably learn to make some simple things or use the micro wave. Then she gets her regular caretaker to do her shopping, lunch and errands in the middle of the day and another person comes in the evening to help with dinner, makes sure she takes her meds and does some socializing and readies her for bed.
She doesn't really need the help with most of this but it keeps tabs on her and makes her feel like she is not alone. The seizure she had Sunday night didn't change anything, They new she could have a seizure at any time and having someone there really doesn't change that. It is only dangerous for her to have a seizure if she is outside walking around or doing something precarious or maybe in the bath or shower. So they mainly need people there when she is bathing or out of the house.
She will have to get used to being alone. I don't know how hard that will be on her. She is ok alone for hours before but has never actually lived alone or not had someone in the house when she was asleep. I pray she will do well. While I was there I didn't need to do much for her, she got up before I did and took her shower, dressed and took her own medicine without me. But it is different knowing someone isn't in the other room if she needs them. I hope she does alright. I think she can.
I worry for her but I cn'at let it get to me. I don't need more worry in my life to get me down or anxious so I have to hope for the best and try not to think on it too much.
Meanwhile, I stillhave to deal with my parent's finances and their being in living assistance and having to get used to it. Neither has taken to it whole heartedly though we didn't put them there. They elected to go due to their health. But Ithink they somehow resent us for allowing it or soemthing. This may only me my own worry.
It is difficult to get my mom to make a decision now and she is still capable and i9ntelligent jsut not physically able to walk and cna't see so must have help. The place and people are nice and very accomidating but she doesn't seem to want to fit in or get comfortable there and says she needs more care even though they give her all she needs and her doctors have not siad she needs a nursing home only living assistance. I think she has given up and just wants to die and so wants people to take care of her and not have to put in any effort.
When I see her in the activities there she seems happy but once she knows I am there she seems to only complain or get dour. I wish she would find some peace and let herself assimilate and be as happy as she can there. I don't want to have to find and move her to another place. This one is fine and she would not like anyplace till she gives them a chance and tries to live there not just be there.
So most of this has been about my family. I realize I am not as anxious about myself because I am feeling ok about getting to come home and finaly relax a bit not needing to return to my parent's hosue to watch someone tomorrow. But I still need to get my parent's finances arranged so that they don't have to spend everything for their final years care. Getting my dad his vet benefits will make a big difference and maybe allow me and my brother and sister to inheret and not be left with no financial security of our own as my parents wanted.
We have to have a new trust written that protects their property so that when they get medical the state wont' take everything. My mom is leery of anything that wants to hide her assets but I have investigated it and it seems fine. It is important that she allow it or they will lose all their money in only a few years and nothing will be left for their kids. It is their money and so they can spend it as they like but if we can get help form the vets and safehouse their property I don't see why we can't and get the sem thing they would get anyway without losing it.
I want to do what is best for them. And this seems best and also helps me. I think it is better than my brother's plan to keep them all int he house and take care of them himself to save money so he can continue to have all his bills paid and get money from them.
This is getting long but Ihave not had a chance to post for a few days at any length. So I am sorry for that. I'm feeling better though still have some anxiety about all this and am fearing what may come next.

Update. My brother was told not to go over to my sister\'s house yesterday and said, all smiles and friendly (though I could see he wasn\'t sincere and was only putting on a front for the councilors and social workers), )Alright, if she doesn\'t wnat me to come over there I wont any more. It hurts my feelings ut if that is what she wants then I will do it.\"

The matter seemed finally settled.

Next Day: He shows up at the house.
I\'m not sure what all he wanted or what he did while there but it is obvious he is confused, deluded, inconsiderate or just stupid.
